Chapter 300 Persistent Unsettling Symptoms
Having not eaten for several days, she was on the brink of starvation, and her energy was long depleted.
She clung tightly to the sleeve of the man in the white robe as she continued pleading, “I beg you, please
save me…”
The man in the white robe suddenly let out a profound sigh. “Is that true? You’re willing to do anything to repay me if I save you?”
She quickly responded, “Yes, it’s true! I assure you!”
Later on, Raylee had no idea where she was taken.
All she knew was that she had undergone three lumbar surgeries without any form of anesthesia.
Every surgery she went through was so painful that it made her faint.
During this process, she had only encountered the man in the white robe three times.
Each time, the man in the white robe made her endure the pain.
He told her with unwavering conviction that the surgery was performed without anesthesia in order to save her life.
Raylee couldn’t discern whether the Epean professor’s apprentice was a good person or a bad one.
Perhaps he was a bit of both.
When she returned to the Epean professor’s side, the apprentice would always give her a heap of medicine to consume after every experiment.
After she had finished consuming the medicine, her discomfort would vanish instantly.
The apprentice of the Epean professor made her days in prison significantly more bearable.
He served as a ray of light during her darkest days.
However, this ray of light only existed for just over a year before he suddenly vanished.
“Ah…!” Raylee jolted awake from her dream.
The masked man was sleeping beside her. When she woke him up with her noise, his first reaction was to soothe her.
“Did you have another nightmare? It’s all right. I’m here, so no one can hurt you. Don’t be scared…”
As Raylee recalled the fragments of her dream, she couldn’t help but tear up.
Her voice was choked with emotion as she said, “Sebastian, my past was so unbearable. It caused me so much pain. Who was it that intended to throw me into that devil’s prison? Why was I forced to endure such an experience? Why?”
“It wasn’t your fault.” The masked man held her close in his embrace as he continued, “The ones who were

anyone hurt you again.”
Raylee’s fists were tightly clenched, her eyes flickering with a potent rage.
Finished
“Yes, it’s all in the past. I need to live on strongly. After all, I told him once that my sole reason for living was to seek revenge!”
“Told who?” asked the masked man.
“The Epean professor’s apprentice.”
“He had an apprentice?” The masked man was taken aback.
“Yup! His apprentice once saved my life and even performed surgeries on me! Ugh… my lower back suddenly hurts so much!”
Raylee placed her hand on her back and felt around.
She was startled when she felt the raised scar on her back. “How did the scar on my back reappear?”
The masked man didn’t reveal the truth to her. He simply reassured her by saying,
“It must be a side effect from the newly developed scar removal cream. No worries; I’ll have them refine the formula. Get some rest first; I’m going to step out and discuss with the doctor.”
The masked man hastily got up and left!
Upon arriving in the living room, he immediately called Angela. “Did you know that the Epean b*stard had an apprentice?”
Angela was shocked when she heard that. “He had an apprentice? Since when?”
“Raylee told me. Look into his apprentice’s background immediately. If we can’t get that Epean b*stard to talk, then we’ll start with his apprentice!”
“I’ll get right on it, Leo!” Angela responded.
Raylee simply couldn’t go back to sleep, so she got up and stood in front of the full–length mirror.
Upon seeing her back that had once been healed by the scar removal cream, she didn’t know when it had become littered with haphazard scars.
She was immediately gripped by a paralyzing fear.
Not only that, she also had a new tattoo on her waist.
It was a symbol that appeared to be quite bizarre.
Raylee didn’t understand what was happening to her.
Why have the scars resurfaced? And when did an additional tattoo appear? There was also the intermittent pain in my bones that occurs from time to time… What does all of this signify?
Raylee was certain she was in excellent physical condition, but the persistent unsettling symptoms immediately gave her a bad feeling in her gut.
