The family of three was engaged in a heated argument inside the office.

“Has she been taken to the hospital? Get them to rush Wavy to the hospital now! Could the lawyer escort me to see her? I want to see her! Oh, dear… Why must she be so worrisome? I’m really concerned!” Harriet asked anxiously.
Samuel sighed. “We’re not allowed to see her yet. The detention center informed us that a doctor has already tended to her wounds, so she’s okay for now. You don’t need to worry too much, Mom.”
“How could I not be worried? Wavy already suffers from depression, and she has such a low stress tolerance. I fear she won’t be able to last much longer.”
This news completely shattered Harriet’s emotional state.
She grabbed Alaric’s arm and questioned him, “Alaric, give me a straight answer right now! Will you or won’t you save Wavy?”
Alaric snorted coldly. “What should I use to save her? Don’t look at me as if I’m the enemy. Do you think it’s easy for me to see our daughter like this?”
“Your daughter was driven to suicide, and you just stand by and do nothing?” Harriet wept in disappointment.
“How many times has she threatened to take her own life? Can you even keep count? Even if I save her this time, I can’t save her every time!”
“Fine! If you won’t save her, then Wavy is doomed to die in prison sooner or later. In that case, I might as well die with her!”
Harriet then rushed to the window, recklessly intending to jump off the sill.
Falling from a height of over ten stories would undoubtedly result in a gruesome end.
Alaric recklessly rushed over to hold her back, raising his voice as he reprimanded her, “Have you lost your mind? How could you commit suicide in Goodridge Group’s office building? Don’t you think the company has been in the spotlight enough lately?”
“My daughter is my life! If you won’t even save her, what’s the point of me living?” Harriet cried out in despair.
“Don’t lose hope, Mom. Dad didn’t say he wouldn’t help. Whatever the issue is, we can discuss it together!” Samuel advised.
In the end, the two men joined forces and forcibly carried her down from the window.

However, it was under the condition that they had to rescue Waverly before he would proceed with the signing of the transfer agreement.

“I can arrange for the person in charge of Hontero Foundation to sign a contract with you. With the certification of a team of lawyers, you can rest assured that you won’t be short–changed in the slightest, Mr. Goodridge.”
“Hontero Foundation? Isn’t that the foundation established by the Malk royal family in our country? Could it be that you’re representing Mr. Foucault?” Alaric exclaimed in surprise.
“You could say that. Also, I have one more request. I need access to Old Mrs. Goodridge’s safe,” replied Plumpy with a chuckle.
Upon hearing this, Alaric was instantly so angry that he was practically fuming, his eyes wide with indignation.
“I get it now. This was all Raylee’s idea from start to finish, wasn’t it? She clearly could have saved Waverly, but she chose not to, and now she insists on taking thirty percent of my shares and the safe! I’ve uncovered her scheme! She aims to seize my family’s assets! Well, guess what? She can dream on!”
Alaric was so furious he could hardly contain himself.
“Since you refuse to agree to the terms, then I won’t insist any further. Just to be clear, my offer stands for only twelve hours.”
After Plumpy finished speaking, she turned around, opened the door, and left the office.
Harriet rushed over to her, pleading, “Don’t go! I agree to your request!”
Feeling annoyed, Alaric said, “You’re out of your mind! This is all a scheme set up by Raylee! If I agree to her request, then Goodridge Group would soon become her playground!”
Harriet wept as she said, “Isn’t it better to give your shares to Ray–Ray, instead of letting them fall into the hands of others? Moreover, weren’t you constantly expressing your desire to broker a deal with Mr. Foucault? How could you pass up such a grand opportunity that’s right in front of you?”
Alaric was utterly frustrated. “A collaboration is supposed to be profitable, but so far, I’ve gained nothing in return! I’d have to be out of my mind to give away so much of my shares!”
