We’ve already announced our engagement to the world, so there’s no way he could entertain thoughts about other women.” Sternly, Casimir nodded, his expression grave as he said, “I’m about to have an engagement ceremony with my fiancée later this month. I would be honored if you and Ms. Goodridge could grace us with your presence, Mr. Foucault.”
“An engagement ceremony?” Waverly looked at Casimir, her eyes reddening with excitement.
Swooning with affection, Casimir gently tousled her hair and said, “Yeah, you silly goose. Did you actually forget something as significant as our engagement ceremony? What a scatterbrain you are! Let’s work on the invitation card design once we get back”

Once they had walked far away, Waverly instinctively let go of Casimir.
“What’s wrong?” Casimir asked, puzzled.
Waverly looked at him with a pair of pitiful eyes, her gaze flickering as she said, “Casimir, I understand that you just needed me to play along with your act earlier. Now that the act is over, I’ve also awakened from my dream. Even though we were destined to part ways, and couldn’t have an engagement ceremony, know this–whenever you need me in the future, I’ll be there in an instant.”
