Chapter 33 Leave Her
“You forced me to do this!” Samuel declared, seizing it firmly.
The difference in strength between a man and a woman was already substantial, let alone for Raylee, who had spent four years in prison. Her health had deteriorated terribly–how could she possibly be a match for Samuel?
In their struggle, he shoved her backward.
With a loud splash, Raylee plunged into the pool.
Water engulfed her instantly. She flailed, her cries for help muffled by the cold embrace of the deep. “Help!” she gasped desperately.
Casimir instinctively moved to jump in, but Samuel stopped him. “Leave her. She knows how to swim. She’s been swimming since she was a kid–she even made it onto the city’s competitive swim team in middle school!”
Casimir hesitated, his gaze locked on Raylee as she thrashed in the water. He frowned. “She doesn’t look like someone who knows how to swim. Are you sure about that?”
Shanice scoffed. “Come on, Casimir. She’s lived with Samuel for years–don’t you think he’d know if she could swim or not? Why would he lie?”
“Exactly.” Samuel agreed coolly. “She’s just putting on a show, trying to get sympathy. Ignore her.”
He crouched down, picking up the auction box Raylee had dropped. He opened it, and when he saw the pink diamond nestled inside, a triumphant smile spread across his face. Turning to Waverly, he held it up proudly. “Look, Wavy–your favorite pink diamond. I told you I’d make sure it’s yours!”
Thank you, Samuel! I love you so much!” Waverly beamed, clinging to Samuel’s arm affectionately.
Samuel felt deeply satisfied. His sister was truly his sister–grateful, kind, and always appreciative of his efforts.
Unlike Raylee!!
His gaze turned cold as he looked back at her, still struggling in the water. She was always defying him, always opposing him. If he didn’t put her in her place, she’d keep causing trouble.
Casimir, however, kept watching her closely. Her struggling looked far too real–it wasn’t the kind of performance someone
could fake.
The crowd around the pool began murmuring anxiously. Some urged the security guards to intervene, but Samuel stopped them.
Raylee had been in the water for nearly eight minutes now. She had swallowed countless gulps of water, and it felt as though an invisible force was crushing her lungs. A suffocating pressure spread through her body.
Her arms and legs weakened, her struggles growing sluggish. Then, she started sinking.
“Still playing games? Samuel taunted from the shore. “If I remember correctly, your record for holding your breath underwater is fifteen minutes. You’ve still got at least five minutes left.”
Someone in the crowd hesitated. “She’s not moving at all… Is she really just acting? What if something happens!”
Samuel dismissed it coldly. “She’s my sister. If anything happens, I’ll take responsibility.”
Then, silence ensued. Raylee stopped fighting.
It seemed as though the entire world had fallen silent.
Raylee! Raylee, say something!” Casimir shouted urgently.
There was no reaction.

Samuel’s Lace finally changed. His confidence wavered, his heart clenching with unease.

Casumir was just about to rip off his coat and dive in when a tall figure heat him to it. A man plunged into the water with precise, powerful strokes.

He swam straight for Kaylee, grabbing her lifeless body and lifting her above the surface. With swift efficiency, he carried her toward the shore
The moment he pulled her out of the water, Jeremiahi didn’t waste a second. He cleared her airways and immediately began

Raylee’s body was limp, motionless. There was no response.
Jeremiah’s voice was sharp and commanding, “Call an ambulance–now!”
Then, his gaze swept over the onlookers, sharp as a blade. “If anything happens to her, every single one of you is responsible,”
someone in the crowd pointed at Samuel and spoke up angrily. “Actually, a security guard tried to save her earlier. But this man–who claims to be her brother–insisted she could swim and refused to let anyone help!”
“Yeah, he’s the one who said to leave her alone!”
Samuel stood frozen, staring at Raylee’s deathly pale face, utterly shaken, “S–She knew how to swim. She really did… Why is this happening?”
Waverly quickly stepped forward, clinging to Samuel’s arm. “Maybe Samuel remembered wrongly! Please don’t blame him!” Jeremiah shot him a murderous glare before turning his full attention back to Raylee. He pried her lips open and began mouth–to–mouth resuscitation,
One breath followed another, in sync with the external chest compressions.
Casimir watched, his emotions tangled in a storm of worry, resentment, and something he couldn’t name.
