Chapter 45 Must You Be So Relentless
However, when he looked up, he met Raylee’s hatred–filled eyes.
Suddenly, he lost the courage to step forward.
At a time like this, his efforts were simply too late and utterly useless.
Raylee wouldn’t accept his apology. She despised him to her core. The way she looked at him was like a knife, relentlessly piercing his heart every single second.
The pain rendered him speechless, left him breathless. It was a torment akin to his soul being torn apart.
“Apologize right now!” Alaric demanded sternly.
“I’m sorry.” Samuel could hardly bear to look at Raylee as he uttered the words, almost numbly.

The moment Harriet’s hand brushed against her face, Raylee swatted her hand away.
Harriet stumbled backward, nearly falling if not for Waverly, who supported her from behind.

She wanted to step forward and stop it, but it was already too late.
Looking at the shattered ceramic debris scattered all over the floor.

Every move Kaylee made radiated a sense of disdain.

Raylee let out a scornful and icy snicker.

Waverly rushed over, shielding Samuel, her tone brimming with pitiful pleading.
“Raylee, hasn’t Samuel suffered enough with the gunshot wound? Isn’t the lesson he’s learned sufficient? If you’re angry, take it out on me. Hit me, not him!”
“Wavy, get out of here! Raylee is out of control right now. She’ll really hit you!” Samuel pulled her away.
Waverly, however, adamantly refused to leave, her eyes welling up with tears of injustice.
“If Raylee could vent her anger, and if Samuel wouldn’t be hit, I’m willing to take the beating myself?”
“Wavy, you’re so naive!” he exclaimed. “What have I done to deserve such a wonderful sister like you!”
The two of them cherished each other deeply, much like a pair of devoted lovers who, in the face of adversity and misfortune, never abandoned one another.
This bond of kinship moved heaven and earth.
Raylee almost felt like applauding for them.
After all, their kinship was built upon her demise.
She glared at Waverly, wishing her stare could bore a hole right through her face.
“Do you really think I wouldn’t dare to lay a finger on you? Rest assured, you’re the mastermind who put me behind bars. This score, I’ll settle it with you, slowly!”
At this moment, every word uttered by Raylee was almost a low growl.
That hoarse voice, laced with a sinister undertone, was akin to a demon from hell, sending chills down one’s spine.
Waverly herself wasn’t sure if it was genuine fear or just her overly sensitive tear ducts at play. She was scared to the point of tears, and her body trembled.
The little princess’s tears caused the hearts of the Goodridge family members to ache terribly.
Harriet quickly came to her Waverly’s defense, saying, “Ray–Ray, why are your scaring Wavy? Even if she made a mistake four years ago, the Goodridge family has raised you. That should’ve offset any wrongdoing!”

“Did I Hah…” Raylee began to laugh sarcastically. “Had I known that wealth and status came with calamity, would I have ever cared to be a pampered heiress? I’m giving it all back to you. “You give me back those four years, including my health and a
whole heart!”
“Enough, Raylee! So what if I was in prison for four years? Must you be so relentless?” Samuel accused angrily.
