Chapter 61 The Attitude Of Casimir

“When she said she wanted to fight to the death with Samuel, she’s a stranger to me.” Waverly said.
Alaric said solemnly, “Casimir, whatever happened between you and Ray–Ray was in the past. It’s time to let go. Waverly is right. You’re her fiance. It’s not appropriate to help another woman against our family.”
“Casimir, please stop getting involved in our family matters. I wouldn’t want it to affect our relationship,” Harriet advised.
Raylee was surprised toward Casimir’s attitude.
Casimir had always been calm and mature. He was indifferent toward people and matters.
At that moment, disregarding his status as Waverly’s fiancé, he stood up against the Goodridge family for Raylee’s sake.
His actions were insane.
Raylee couldn’t fathom Casimir’s mindset
Four years ago, he held no feelings for her.
He had somehow developed feelings for her when she was released from prison.
Was it due to the protective urge?
Casimir didn’t favor Raylee’s cheerful and upbeat demeanor. Perhaps Raylee being miserable had attracted him.
Regardless of the reason, Raylee knew Casimir would never like her..
Although she was grateful that Casimir defended her, she could never forget that he was involved in her imprisonment years ago. She would carry the hatred for the rest of her life.

Just as Casimir was about to retort, Raylee interrupted, “Mr. Sutherland, I appreciate you standing up for me, but this is my business. Please don’t stick your nose where it doesn’t belong. Four years ago, I was able to endure the imprisonment alone. Four years later, I could confront other challenges”
Raylee’s words left Casimir speechless.
He had wounded her deeply four years ago. She still harbored resentment toward him.
The joy that had just sprung up in his heart vanished instantly.
Unwilling to back off, Casimir asked, “Are you blaming me for being a busybody? Do you not want my help?”
Raylee shook her head and replied, “Yes.”
“Fine, I was punished for doing the right thing. From now on, whatever happens to you, I won’t interfere. I don’t want you calling me a busybody.”
Casimir stormed out of the private room.
“Casimir, wait for me,” Waverly called out as she wiped her tears and ran after him.
Raylee glanced over the three members of the Goodridge family. Then, her gaze finally fixed on Samuel
miah.
“Indeed, I’m quite pleased with myself. First, I had the backing of Jeremiah. Now, I had Casimir’s support. We’ll see how this plays out Raylee warned.
After she finished speaking, she left the private room
With tears in her eyes, Harriet cried, “Ray–Ray, please don’t leave…”
Raylee ignored Harriet and left.

Chapter 61 The Attitude Of Casimir
At the far end of the private room, Raylee saw Waverly sobbing uncontrollably before Casimir,
Casimir looked at Waverly indifferently. He didn’t even hand her a tissue.
Raylee didn’t know what the two were discussing, but Casimir’s actions spoke volumes,
Waverly’s current status was strikingly similar to Raylee’s four years ago. She was getting the cold shoulder.
No matter how Waverly flattered Casimir, he remained nonchalant,
Raylee was somewhat confused.
Weren’t the two of them getting along well? Why does Casimir suddenly side with me?

Raylee took a deep breath. If only Casimir had been this kind to her four years ago, their engagement wouldn’t have been called off, and she wouldn’t have ended up in prison.
They might have children by now.
Raylee shook her head, dispelling the unrealistic fantasies in her mind. After leaving the restaurant, she hailed a cab to Goodridge Manor.

Vera noticed the cake stains on Raylee’s clothes and asked, “Did you just return from your Mom’s birthday party? I can’t attend the party because of my poor health. Regardless, I’m glad your visit eased the tension with the family.”
Vera was unaware of the matters related to the psychiatric hospital. Raylee didn’t dare to bring it up, fearing it might agitate
Vera.
Regardless of Raylee’s deep resentment toward the Goodridge family, Vera still hoped for family harmony.
Therefore, Raylee lied to Vera and said that she had been out having a great time with Jeremiah for the past few days. She claimed that she had rushed back to attend Harriet’s birthday party.
Vera was delighted, “Oh my, I’ll have my great–grandchild in no time!”
Raylee flashed a radiant smile and asked, “Grandma, do you wish to have a great–grandchild?”
Vera’s expression instantly softened with empathy. “Ray–Ray, I know you’ve suffered in prison. Your health has deteriorated, possibly making it difficult for you to conceive a child. Don’t worry Let nature take its course.”
Raylee nodded, trying to cheer Vera up. “Grandma, it’s not as bad as you think I’ll do my best to conceive a healthy great- grandchild.”
After having dinner with Vera, Raylee returned to her room.
