Raylee had heard about these past events numerous times
She could comprehend that the older generation held a preference for boys over girls. Her grandmother was merely a sorrowful product of that era.
Regardless of who her grandmother had hurt in the past, or what kind of person she was, the love for her was undeniably
real.
She loved her grandmother, it had nothing to do with anyone else.
After a moment of contemplation, a sense of indifference was apparent on Raylee’s face.
“I won’t judge what Grandma did, but I’m warning you, if you dare upset her again, you’ll have to deal with me!”
A flicker of panic flashed through Harriet’s eyes.
“I’m sorry, Ray–Ray: I know you’ve been wronged. I’ll do everything in my power to make it up to you. As for Samuel, I will make him apologize to you. As long as you don’t hold him accountable, you can dictate any punishment for him!”
The tone of Raylee’s words was chillingly indifferent, cutting to the bone. “You’re using grandma as leverage against me, how can I possibly object? However, the thought of letting him off easily doesn’t sit well with me. Therefore, I have one condition
-Samuel has to stay in the detention center for a full week!”
“No problem!” Harriet agreed with delight.
The punishment was nothing more than a slight inconvenience, hardly something that Raylee would even bat an eyelid at.
As the old saying goes, revenge is a dish best served cold.
As long as she, Raylee, was still alive, there would come a day when she would have her revenge!
Waverly spoke with a heavy heart. “Mom, Samuel has been in the detention center for a full day and night now. I went to see him this morning. He couldn’t eat or drink, he looked completely worn out. If he were to be confined for another week, I fear he wouldn’t be able to bear it. There are plenty of ways to punish, isn’t it unnecessary to make him suffer like this?”
If the Goodridge family wanted to interfere, they wouldn’t be able to keep Samuel for even half a day.
It seemed that Alaric was dead set on making him suffer. But did he really think that a little hardship would make her let of her grudge?

Before Harriet could say a word, Raylee scoffed. “One day, and he can’t take it? I was in there for four years!”
She looked at Waverly, her face, bruised and battered, was shrouded in a dark shadow. Her eyes, filled with an unspoken depth were cold, stern, and held a commanding presence.
“Don’t you care about your brother? Are you willing to share both good times and bad with him? You should also spend a week in confinement!!
Waverly shivered, her face a picture of complete bewilderment.
Harriet quickly played the peacemaker. “Ray–Ray, I agreed to let Samuel stay inside for a week. Don’t listen to Wavy’s. none, I don’t feel bad about it at all!”
“Do you think I joking?” Kaylee glared at Waverly, her face filled with irritation after being provoked,
“My other condition, she stated, “is that Waverly must also spend a week there!”

Growing impatient, Raylee decided to show the guests out.
“The final condition,” she demanded, “is for you all to leave immediately. Go as far as you can and never come back to bother me or Grandma again!”
Harriet was taken aback, her mouth agape. She had so much to say, yet at that moment, she couldn’t utter a single word.
Her beloved Ray–Ray, the one she once cherished above all else, had it really come to the point where she despised her this
much!
Harriet gave a nod, and as she was leaving, she picked up the fragments of the photograph from the floor.
“Mom, it’s already shattered to pieces, there’s no need to pick it up. Waverly advised.
“I
only have this one photo, Harriet said, her face filled with sorrow. I can piece it back together, it’s still viewable. These are the cherished memories of my time with Ray–Ray, I don’t want to forger them.”
A flicker of jealousy passed subtly across Waverly’s face..
That day. Waverly turned herself in at the police station.
However, she had only been locked up for a day when her depression flared up, causing her to attempt suicide by running into a wall. She was urgently rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Her room was right above Vera’s.
Kaylee heard it from her caregiver, who had been looking after her. She was told that when she was rushed to her head was bleeding profusely, Harriet was completely overwhelmed with grief, crying a river of tears,

hospital.
Kaylee didn’t voice her thoughts. She had anticipated that Waverly wouldn’t be able to endure this hardship. Unexpectedly. problems arose just after a single day.
It seemed clear that openly confronting her wouldn’t work in the future. After all, her tactic of courting danger had proven repeatedly effective.
The following day, as per usual, Kaylee went to the hospital room to visit her grandmother, who was still unconscious.
As soon as she ascended the stairs, she could see Casimir from a distance.
Dressed in a patient’s uniform, Waverly stood by his side, her head wrapped in gauze. As she walked, she chatted and laughed, radiating sweetness like she’d been dipped in a jar of honey.
