Chapter 71 The Blunt Caregiver.
She was in stark contrast with Casimir, who stood by her side with a serious and reserved demeanor.
In her mind, Raylee couldn’t help but recall the two instances when Casimir had confessed his feelings to her. A trace of affection involuntarily rose within her heart..
Raylee fiercely shook her head, dispelling those impractical thoughts that had crept into her mind.
At that time, Casimir was Waverly’s hancé, regardless of whether his affection for her stemmed from a desire to make amends, or a sudden surge of feelings for her, there could never be a future between them.
“Raylee?” Casimir looked up, and upon seeing Raylee’s figure, a hint of surprise and joy crossed his previously expressionless.
face
It seemed like he was very happy?
Raylee wasn’t sure if she was mistaken, but she nodded at him nonetheless, before continuing her way upstairs toward her grandmother’s hospital room.
Casimir swiftly caught up to her and offered support, expressing his concern by saying, “I heard you fell down the stairs, how are you now? Feeling any better?”
Seeing Casimir hold Raylee’s hand, his face filled with worry, left a bitter taste in Waverly’s heart.
Yet, she feigned magnanimity and said, “Raylee, you must be feeling much better now if you can go upstairs to see grandma by yourself”
Thanks for your concern, Mr. Sutherland. Raylee gently shook off his hand, her gaze shifting back to Waverly,
“My injuries have largely healed, how about yours?
Waverly thought she was about to reveal her alopecia areata, causing her entire body to tremble in shock. Her hands nervously twisted together, her face pale as clay.
Raylee noticed her expression and couldn’t help but laugh. “Why are you so nervous? I’m talking about your depression. I heard your depression is quite severe, leading to frequent suicidal thoughts. Mr. Sutherland has a friend named Percival Siapiro who is a medical expert. How about we ask him to recommend a psychiatrist for you?”
“No need, I’ve already seen a doctor and I’m feeling much better now, Waverly said, shaking her head as if she was a
bobblehead.
“Don’t be shy Percival has a wide network in the medical field, he can definitely find a good doctor to cure your illness!” Rayler scoffed.
Waverly took a cautious glance at Casimir’s expression, fearful that he might think she was severely depressed and use this as a reason to call off their marriage.
She quickly changed the subject. “Thank you for your kindness, Raylee, but I’m really fine now. It seems like you hold Dr. Shapiro in high regard 1 heard he was the one who took you away from the psychiatric hospital, wasn’t he?”
Raylee ignored her, her gaze shifting toward Casimir
*Lowe Percival a huge favor. When you have time, could you ask him when he’s free? I’d like to invite him for a meal.”
You
– pretty grateful, but I think you’ve got the wrong person to thank,” Casimir said, his tone sour. The upward lilt in lus voice carried an intriguing undertone.
That day, it was I who sent Percival to treat your wounds. His timely intervention saved your life. So, why haven’t I been invited to dinner yet?”
Hearing these words stirred up a whirlwind of thoughts. Waverly furrowed her brows, stiffening her face as she interjected, Casimir, how about I treat you to a meal? There’s a newly opened private kitchen on Newhaven Road, it serves really good

Kaylee casually glanced at Waverly. “Yeals, if you want to dine, you should do so with your fiancée. What’s it to me?”
After speaking, she proceeded upstairs on her own, heading toward her Vera’s sickroom.
Finished
Vera was still unconscious, with the caregiver nodding off. On seeing her arrival, the caregiver quickly rushed over.
“Ms. Goodridge, you’re here? Oh, and who might this gentleman be?” The caretaker looked toward Casimir with a puzzled
expression.
“He’s my fiance,” Waverly introduced with a smile, “He had some free time today, so he came to visit Grandma!”
“I see, the caregiver greeted.
“Come on in, make yourself comfortable, Ms. Goodridge will be here to take care of Old Mrs. Goodridge whenever she has a moment. This was supposed to be my job–I can’t help but feel a little embarrassed.”
The caregiver’s flattering words filled Waverly’s heart with joy. She turned to look at Casimir and modestly said, “This is my grandmother, who else would fake care of her if not me? It’s my duty.”
JA sense of relief filled Casimir’s eyes. “Waverly, you’ve worked hard,”
“Um… the Ms. Goodridge I was referring to is this lady right here!” The caretaker pointed toward Kaylee.
She glanced at Waverly again. “As for this Ms. Goodridge, I’ve only met her once or twice. She was just here to visit Old Mrs. Goodridge and then she left.”“”“
For a moment, Waverly wished fervently for a hole to appear in the ground, so she could crawl into it out of sheer embarrassment.
She shot a sharp glare at the caregiver, cursing inwardly. This idiot–if she cannot say the right thing, she might as well keep her mouth shut. No our will mistake her for a mute!
The caregiver, blunt as ever, noticed her sharp glare and quickly said, “Ms. Goodridge, did I say something wrong?”
Cumir furrowed his brows, leading toward Vera’s sickled.
At that moment. Rayler had already cleaned a towel and was gently wiping Vera’s face.
