Chapter 77 The More The Merrier
All four of them were outfitted in sun–protective clothing, fully equipped with mountain–climbing gear. At a glance, it was clear they were here specifically for the climb.
So I wasn’t imagining things after all–the person I saw driving on the road really was Casimir!
When Raylee spotted them, she couldn’t help but marvel at how small the world seemed, for such a chance encounter to
Could it be that the path between adversaries is always this narrow?
“Your brother, as well as your ex, are both here. Why don’t you go over and say hello?” Jeremiah suggested with a smirk.
That’s not my brother, we should mind our own business and not bother about them.” With a cold demeanor, Raylee was about to turn away.
However, Waverly’s excited voice echoed from behind. “Raylee, are you and my future brother–in–law also here to hike up Whitehorn Mountain? What a coincidence!”
As she spoke, the four of them made their way over.
Watching as the four figures drew nearer, Raylee was overcome with frustration.
“No worries, it’s just a greeting. Keeping up appearances is still necessary.”
Jeremiah, with his rebellious and handsome face, wore a faint smile. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders as he boldly confronted diem.
Haylee’s gaze fell upon Samuel and Waverly.
The siblings had visibly lost a significant amount of weight, it was clear that their week–long detention had taken a toll on them.
Before Casimir even got close, he saw the two locked in a tender embrace, and a surge of inexplicable jealousy flared in his
Fixing his gaze on Raylee, he sneered, “Well, Ms. Goodridge, your bond with Mr. Lorimer is truly touching. I just wonder- will the affection still be as strong once the novelty wears off?
“Well, hello there, Rayler’s ex–hance and my future brother–in–law,” Jeremiah greeted them with an easy familiarity, a mischievous smile playing at the corner of his lips.
“After the honeymoon phase, whether we’re still in love or not, it’s no longer your concern. Oh, is it appropriate for me to call you ‘ex–fiance? After all, you and Ray–Ray never even started”
Casimir’s face ashen.
Indeed, he was merely Kaylee’s nominal france, they hadn’t even officially dated
In the past, he hadn’t thought much of this matter. But now, having clearly understood the place Raylee held in his heart. having it brought up by others left a bitter taste in his feelings
Jeremiah’s piercing black eyes shifted once again onto Samuel
“Futur urother–in–law, your gunshot wound has healed already! You have impressive physical resilience. It seems you can even withstand a couple inore bullet wounds without a problem Next time, I debuitely won’t hold back”
The moment the topic came up, Samuel couldn’t hold back his frustration Stepping forward angrily, he snapped, “Don’t think that being part of the Lorimer family gives you a free pass to do whatever you want Jesburgh doesn’t need a b*stard. like you stirring up trouble!”
“B“stard?” Jeremiah’s brows furrowed slightly, he responded with a nonchalant laugh.

“Indeed, my status doesn’t compare to your noble birthright. Mr. Goodridge. However, the gun in my hand is quite persuasive. From this moment on, Ray–Ray is my Achilles heel. If you dare to bully her again, I can’t guarantee my gun won’t misfire, hitting you in the head
As the words fell, Waverly’s face turned deathly pale with fright.
She trembled with fear, tugging at Samuel’s sleeve, her voice filled with tears as she spoke.
“Samuel, please stop arguing with Jeremiah. I’m afraid if you anger him, he might shoot you again…”
Samuel let out a deep grunt, his face flushing a deep shade of red in frustration.
A real man knows when to walk away.
He refused to confront a madman head–on.
–
Raylee didn’t understand Jeremiah, but he did. That illegitimate son had a dangerously extreme nature he was utterly unhinged
Kaylee allowed Jeremiah to wrap his arms around her shoulders. She listened as he single–handedly silenced two grown men with his words, leaving her feeling thoroughly satisfied inside.
Especially Samuel–wasn’t he always so arrogant and overbearing? Didn’t he think so highly of himself?
Yet in front of Jeremiah, he shrank like a timid quail, not daring to make a sound.
People like them only knew how to push around easy targets. But when faced with real power, their true nature showed they were nothing but bullies who preyed on the weak and cowered before the strong.
Strength really did make all the difference.
In the quiet recesses of her mind, Raylee made a solemn pledge. She was determined to become stronger, knowing that only through her own strength could she truly protect herself forever.
At the same time, she was somewhat curious. Would Jeremiah really blow Samuel’s brains out with a gun if he found out about the psychiatric hospital incident?
The thought of this question was terrifying. What if one day she angered Jeremiah, would he turn his gun toward her?
“Today is such a lovely day, we’re here to enjoy the view, not to dampen the mood,” Casimir mediated.
His gaze drifted back to Kaylee, now softened with a hint of tenderness.
“Are you here to hike too? How about we go together? The more the merrier.”
“The more the merrier?” Kaylee sneered “Do you really think you can call the shots on this, Mr Sutherland? Shouldn’t you consult your fiancée for her opinion?”
“Why can’t I make a decision over such a small matter?” Casimir’s male chauvinism got the better of him.
