Chapter 79 Picturesque Scenery
“Come over here!” Jeremiah beckoned her with a wave of his hand.
Without giving it much thought, Raylee quickly made her way over.

Just as she was about to take one more step toward him, the man suddenly reached out. His long arm forcefully pulled her
close
His strength was both mumense and herce,
Kaylee was practically swept off her feet by him.
As she was on the verge of talling off the cliff, her eyes widened in terror.
Ah
She let out a piercing scream, believing she was about to meet her end right there..
Suddenly, a force yanked her back.
“What’s going on? Can’t you walk properly? You almost fell down there. Are you trying to leave me a widower?” Jeremiah’s magnetic voice softly reprimanded her.
Raylee stood at the edge of the cliff, her gaze lost in the unfathomable abyss. She stepped back in terror.
Jeremiah’s reprimands rang in her ears, leaving her face pale as she shook her head repeatedly,
“I didn’t…
She couldn’t understand what had gone wrong, she had been extremely careful while walking-
First, she had a slight limp. Second, they were standing at the edge of a clif
If Jeremiah hadn’t suddenly pulled her back….
No, that couldn’t be right.
He had no reason to hold a grudge against her, so why would he….
Raylee banished the jumbled thoughts from her mind.
“All right, don’t be scared,” he reassured her. “I’m here with you, I won’t let anything bad happen to you.”
Jeremiah’s slender fingers gently caressed her face, soothing her in a soft voice.
Kaylee met his gaze, his voice was soft, laced with a lingering tone that left her momentarily unable to discern whether his demeanor was genuine or feigned.
Like a tender trap, if she were to fall into it, catastrophe would be imminent.
Kaylee took a sharp breath, she couldn’t afford to overthink.
Her intuition must have been a mere illusion.
“You two really have a talent for showing off your love–even halfway up a mountain!” A sharp voice suddenly cut through The moment.
Kaylee turned around.
Casimir was seen gazing at her with an intense look.
The rest of them also stubbornly refused to leave.

Hell well. How unlucky of me to run into them again.
It was uncertain how long they had been standing there, or how much they had witnessed.

Waverly hurriedly explained. “Raylee, we didn’t mean to intrude. We heard there was an ancient mural here, so we wanted to check it out!
“Wavy, why are you so afraid of her? Everyone minds their own business–no one’s bothering anyone!” Shanice said with disdain.
“Mr. Lorimer, this isn’t your personal property. Surely, we’re allowed to take a photo?” Samuel scoffed..
Jeremiah met his gaze, his expression unreadable. “Future brother–in–law, do I really come off as overbearing?” Then, with a cold smirk, he added. “Suit yourself.
Shanice and Waverly happily made their way to the mural, taking pictures in all sorts of poses.
Samuel and Casimir snapped a few shots with the murals before eventually strolling around, capturing the stunning landscape on their phones.
Raylee stood with Jeremiah, a mere meter away from the edge of the cliff, gazing into the distance.
The golden sunlight spilled over Raylee’s slender frame, but it did nothing to soften her pallor. Her sharp, black–and–white eyes held no trace of warmth, as if no amount of light could ever reach the depths of her soul.
It was incredibly picturesque.
Almost instinctively, Samuel and Casimir chose Raylee as the main subject of their scenic photographs, capturing countless images of her.
“Excuse me, you two. Were you secretly photographing my fiancée? Did you get my permission? Are you aware of the right of publicity?”
Raylee glanced sideways, catching sight of Jeremiah’s handsome face, taut with tension. His deep, dark eyes held a strong presence as they bore into the two men.
“Who took a sneak photo of her? I certainly did not!” Samuel vehemently denied.
Casimir furrowed his brows. “I’m just taking photos of the scenery, why are you being so overly suspicious, Mr. Lorimer?”
“Are you brave enough to show me your phone gallery?” Jeremiah asked, a hint of mockery tugging at the corners of his lips.
“Own up to it, and I’ll respect you for having some backbone. But don’t try to have it both ways–that’s just pathetic.”
The two men were instantly rendered speechless.
“Delete my photo!” Kaylee commanded in a cold tone.
s
“Fine, I’ll delete it. I was just trying to capture the scenery and you accidentally got in the shot. I certainly don’t need you in my photos!”
In a fit of anger, Samuel pulled up his photo album and deleted it right in front of her.
Casimir followed suit.
But as soon as he turned around, he restored one of the photos and set it as his screensaver.
Suddenly, Waverly ran over, her demeanor brimming with excitement. She cried out, “Casimir, look! I found a heart–shaped pebble! It’s exactly like the one you gave me!”
She opened her palm, revealing a slightly dusty, heart–shaped pebble for everyone to see
