Chapter SS The Beautiful Pebble
“Is it a bit convenient?” Kaylee hesitated.
“Hey, you two are already engaged. What’s so inconvenient? Ellicient folks already have babies”
Layla raised an eyebrow at Raylee, then gently nudged her.
“Go on. It’s in the first room on the right on the third floor of the building behind. Oh, and by the way, the bracelet you’re wearing today is really beautiful!”
Raylee paused. She thinks this worn–out pebble is pretty?
She had been wearing it for eight days already, and in two more days, she would take it off. By then, it would be difficult for Casimir to say anything.
she headed toward Jeremiah’s room.
As she pushed open the room door, a strong, pungent smell of chemical solution hit her, almost suffocating her.
Raylee furrowed her brows, waving a hand in front of her nose. She was perplexed about what Jeremiah was up to in the room, only to realize that the room didn’t have a bed at all.
The walls on either side were lined with an orderly array of firearms. Handguns, assault rifles, you name it, he had it all, nearly filling the entire wall.
The place was displayed much like a gun museum.
What a magnificent sight,
Even though Raylee was a girl, she was still shocked by the scene that unfolded before her.
She recalled Susan’s remarks, who had mentioned that Jeremiah was quite fascinated with firearms.
This must be his collection room, right?
Nonetheless, the pervasive scent of chemical solution throughout the room piqued Raylee’s intense curiosity. It was impossible for such a smell to be emitted merely from a collection of firearms.
There was a door in the middle. It seemed to possess a magical allure, drawing her in and compelling her to push it open.
Al…” The moment she pushed the door open, Kaylee let out a scream in fright.
In a state of urgency, she quickly covered her mouth with her hand, her eyes wide with terror. She watched the scene before her in disbelief
Within the vast room, there were six or seven long tables. Atop these tables were glass jars, each containing various organs.
Under the gleaming light, every organ seemed to be in its prime condition.
There were even severed limbs haphazardly strewn about inside glass jars, their skin bleached pale from being soaked in the chemical solutions
This is terrifying
Kayler had seen this in District Nine Privon
These weren’t any sort of animal organs, but rather, they were human organs preserved in formalin…
It was perfectly normal for Jeremials to collect firearms, but why did he also collect buman organs!
Moreover, where on earth did he get so many human organs!

Raylee couldn’t help but shiver, her heart felt as if it had leaped into her throat, making it difficult for her to even breathe.
She had spent four years in prison, which had honed her mental fortitude.
It one had a weaker mental disposition, they would have been scared enough to meet their maker on the spot.
For the first time, Kaylee sensed that Jeremiah was no ordinary man.
Before, she had merely thought of him as extremely temperamental. Now, he seemed far more terrifying than just being
Raylee knew she couldn’t stay for long. In a hurry, she quickly shut the door and left the suffocating collection room.
Just as she stepped out, Jeremiah emerged from the adjacent room.
He was dressed in a grey pajama, hands tucked into his pockets. His attire was casual, yet it did nothing to hide his well- proporti ned physique. Under the dim light of the corridor, his tousled, ash–blond hair exuded an untamed wildness.
His eyes were strikingly defined, his features impeccably handsome. His lush lips were slightly upturned. It was often said that men with, thin lips were heartless. So, was this man standing before her truly devoid of compassion?
Rayire was still reeling from the shock she had just experienced. A hint of panic flickered across her face, making her unable in meet jeremuah’s gaze directly
She wasn’t sure if he was heartless, but anyone who could hoard such bizarre items was definitely not normal.
“Ray Ray What brings you here?” Jeremiah was surprised to see her.
Layla is hosting a tea party and asked me to come look for you,” Raylee said, doing her best to hide the panic in her heart and feigning calminess.
“So, when Lasked you not to come, you didn’t, but when Layla asked, you came running? If you’re so keen on following her words, you might as well marry her”
A thicker of dissatisfaction crossed Jeremiah’s handsome face.
Beneath his unruly, tousled hair, his wild and brooding black eyes constantly radiated an aura of power befitting a superior.
The thought of the revolting items inside the glass jar suddenly male Raylee feel nauseous.
The tear of meeting his gaze overwhelmed her, so she turned her head away, remaining silent.
“Why do you look so pale? Did you get hurt falling off a cliff? I’m sorry. Work has been incredibly hectic lately. I didn’t make
the time to see you
Jeremiah was gazing at her with deep affection, his hand closing around hers. However, the moment his eyes landed on the pebble bracelet on her wrist, his expression changed drastically
A hint of mockery curved up the corner of his mouth as he toyed with a pebble, his expression a playful blend of amusement and indifference.
The bracelet is quite good–looking. Where did you buy it!”
“I just picked it up randomly,” Raylee admitted, somewhat sheepishly
She had surprisingly overlooked a major issue. On the day of the mountain climbing, Jeremiah had seen this pebble
