“Don’t go!”
The middle–aged man’s status was much higher than his. They could not afford to get on his bad side..
The police no longer hesitated. They grabbed Yelena and put her into the police car as well.
The crowd gradually dispersed, and only a mess remained.
Martha’s legs gave out, and she fell on the floor.
Francis hurriedly went to get her up. He saw Martha’s eyes roll back and she fainted.
In the dark interrogation room, the middle–aged man sat in front of Samuel with a paper in hand. He started listing all of Samuel’s crimes.
Samuel found all those things familiar, because those were the things he had done to Joy.
He had once asked his parents who Joy’s biological parents were, but they seemed to be terrified and did not want to talk about it..
When the middle–aged man talked about him giving Yelena the medication and causing Melea York to be unable to dance anymore, Samuel became certain that Philip York’s daughter was Joy!
In his excitement, he stood up and wanted to verify this fact, but the man’s followers shoved him back down.
The middle–aged man gave him a cold look and announced his punishment.
Since he had refused to save a person, he was to be removed from his position and demoted to the rank of a normal soldier. He did not have to return to the military for the time being, as the man’s higher–up was the one who determined when he was to return.
Samuel was actually supposed to be dismissed entirely, but Thomas Foster, Samuel’s grandfather, had set aside his pride to ask for mercy, and Samuel could still stay in the military as a normal soldier.
As for Yelena, her situation was much worse.

During the investigation, they discovered that what happened to Joy was not a one–off occurrence. Yelena had also shoved a few other dancers who were better than her off the stage, and their legs were broken too.
While the Jones family was rich, they could not protect her. In any case, she was just a girl, had committed lots of crimes, and offended someone she should not have, so they decided to give up on her.
She was removed from her position as the lead dancer, and the dance troupe would never take her in again.
Logically speaking, since Yelena had hurt so many people, she was supposed to be put behind bars, but she was pregnant with Samuel’s baby, and Thomas himself was not willing to see her be in prison, much less Yelena herself.
In the end, after much pleading, the police let this slide after the Jones family gave a hefty compensation to the other girls.
The Jones family also gave a huge compensation to Melea York, published an apology in the newspapers, and even wrote a letter to apologize, but the York family never acknowledged it.
Due to this, the Jones family was exasperated, and they vented all their rage on Yelena by cutting ties with her and leaving her to her own devices.
Martha thus brought her back to the Foster family.
In the past, Martha liked Yelena. After all, she was gentle and sensible. She had even managed to make her aloof
son smile.
Whenever she was home, the family would be full of laughter.
But once Martha saw all the horrible things that she had done, she simply could not be nice to her anymore. She even felt troubled whenever she saw Yelena.
Eventually, she decided to have Yelena settle down in the house next to theirs before sending a few nannies over to take care of her.
She also told the nannies to care only about protecting the baby. They did not need to care about anything else.
