I felt relieved after hearing Kiesha’s words.
Despite being put in a difficult situation, I felt renewed hope. This ridiculous spectacle could finally come to an
end.
Although it wasn’t exactly what I planned, I still ended up achieving the result I wanted.
Annie hesitated and stopped upon hearing Kiesha’s words. She then got up and crossed her arms, looking on expectantly. “Okay, we’ll let the doctor tell us who exactly is pregnant then. But I don’t think my husband would cheat with an old hag.”
She threw a disdainful glance at Karen.
Karen’s face went pale hearing Annie’s words. She replied with a trembling voice, “You guys can continue. I have things to do, so I’ll take my leave for now.”
Annie could tell that something was off upon seeing Karen’s behavior. She walked up and gave Karen a harsh slap. “Did I allow you to leave?”
Her harsh slap caused Karen’s cheek to go red and swell immediately.
William was furious when he saw that and was about to argue with Annie. However, Annie had long lost her patience by then.
She instructed her subordinates to restrain him and said irritably, “Hurry up and tell us who had her prenatal check–up done earlier, doctor!”
The doctor remained unfazed, clearly used to such situations.
All eyes were now on him, while Karen covered her ears as if she were caught red–handed.
The doctor cleared his throat before slowly replying, “I’m sorry, but I can’t disclose that information due to patient confidentiality.”
The entire hospital lobby fell silent at that moment. Everyone looked at each other, clearly not expecting such a
twist.
Karen suddenly stood up straighter, looking energized. She laughed wildly and said, “Why are you doing all this, Lucy? Stop wasting everyone’s time and just admit it!”
