Chapter 138 Meet Every Day
William was very brave. He didn’t cry during the needle insertion process. The nurse even complimented him for his courage.
After a good sleep, Olivia was feeling quite refreshed.
She instructed Nathan to place William on the bed and then proceeded to give William some water to drink.
After obediently finishing his water, William pouted and said coyly, “Mommy, hug me.”
Olivia couldn’t help but chuckle, teasingly saying, “Why do you want me to hug you now?”
“That’s because Daddy’s hand must be sore from holding me for so long,” William answered quite earnestly.
“It seems like you really do care a lot about your father.” Olivia couldn’t help but let out a resigned laugh, gently lifting William up to let him sit on her lap.
Nathan watched them, a subtle smile playing at the corners of his mouth, his gaze softening.
After all that commotion, it was already daylight outside.
However, after William was put on an IV drip, his fever finally subsided, which prompted Olivia and Nathan to simultaneously let out sighs of relief.
Tony had come to the hospital early in the morning, bringing breakfast with him.
Since William had just recovered from an illness, Tony went out of his way to prepare chicken soup and also some nutritious side dishes.
However, he was unaware that Nathan was also present, so he didn’t prepare much in advance.
“Mr. Carter, I didn’t know you were here,” Tony apologized to Nathan with a wry smile.
Nathan shook his head, indicating he didn’t mind. “It’s fine. I’ll eat when I get back.”
Olivia frowned slightly and pushed her portion of the food toward Nathan. “You have it. I don’t have much appetite.” Who knows if he’ll truly have breakfast after going back?
Nathan paused for a moment, then declined outright, “No need. You eat it yourself.”
“What’s the matter? Do you think the food is not lavish enough?” Olivia feighed displeasure as she glared at him.
Nathan was nonplussed. He was just about to open his mouth to explain but was interrupted by Olivia’s irritated voice. “If you have gastritis, you should eat breakfast on time!”
Following that, she turned to Tony and instructed, “Please help me order any takeaway breakfast.”
Tony glanced at Nathan. Then, he hurriedly left after receiving his orders.
Nathan looked at her, wondering. Is she showing concern for me?
Feeling somewhat uneasy under his gaze, Olivia quickly picked up the bowl of chicken soup and turned to feed William.
William obediently ate his food. Noticing that Nathan remained unmoving, he spoke in his childish voice. “Daddy, let’s eat together.”
Nathan smiled faintly, obediently went over to sit, and quietly began to eat his chicken soup.
The warm chicken soup slid down into his stomach, bringing him a comforting warmth and soothing sensation.
After having breakfast, Olivia instructed Tony to handle the discharge procedures.
When William heard about going home, his initially cheerful mood suddenly dampened.

Olivia fell silent.
Nathan gently patted William’s head and said softly, “We can arrange another time to meet. For now, you should focus on your recovery.”
Deep down, Wiliam was truly reluctant to part with Nathan.
Having his father around these past couple of days, he felt a strong sense of security.
However, he didn’t dare to make a fuss since Olivia didn’t say a word. All he could do was obediently nod. “Okay.”
Taking in her son’s disheartened demeanor, Olivia felt a mix of helplessness and heartache.
She was well aware that William was being so cautious because he was considering her feelings.
She couldn’t help but blame herself. Liam is just a five–year–old child, yet he has to be so sensible and emotionally perceptive for my sake. Have 1, as a mother, gone too far? Should I really be stifling his longing?
Olivia was lost in thought for a moment, but ultimately, she couldn’t bring herself to be harsh. “From now on, you can meet your daddy any time you want, okay? Don’t wear that expression. You look so much more adorable when you smile.”
Nathan hadn’t expected her to agree, so he was visibly shocked.
