After chatting, Nathan took a strand of Liam’s hair and handed it to Ethan to take to the DNA testing agency. Then, he led Liam around to explore the villa. At noon, the butler instructed the kitchen to prepare a sumptuous lunch, which Liam enjoyed immensely!
Liam had a habit of napping after lunch. Feeling sleepy, he grabbed Nathan and said playfully, “Daddy, will you nap with me?” Liam’s soft and tender voice melted Nathan’s heart. Around two o’clock in the afternoon, Liam woke up.
The butler served cakes and pastries as a snack. The boy was usually picky about food, but cakes were an, exception. After trying a spoonful, he looked utterly content. “Delicious!” Nathan observed the boy and thought the child resembled him when he was young. Nathan was gluttonous regarding sweets and would beam in delight when he ate dessert!
However, Emily suddenly walked in. She came over almost every day since Olivia returned to the country; afraid her son would get involved with that woman. Upon entering, she saw a child who was around four years old eating pastries on the sofa. He even handed a piece to Nathan. “This is delicious, too. Try it, Daddy!”
She was alarmed to hear the child call Nathan ‘Daddy.‘ Her head buzzed, and she asked, “Daddy? Nathan, what’s up with this child? Why is he calling you that?” Nathan didn’t react much when he saw her, as if he had expected her to come over. His thin lips parted, and he replied, “He’s Liam, my son.”
“What do you mean?” Emily’s eyes widened in shock. “You’re not even married. How do you have a son?” As she spoke, she shifted her gaze and sized up Liam. The child was a little scared at Emily’s sharp gaze and subconsciously leaned towards Nathan. Nathan patted him to comfort him. He didn’t intend to hide anything and answered, “He’s mine and Olivia’s.”
“What?!” Emily was filled with shock and disbelief. “You mean, this child… is yours and Olivia’s? How is that possible?!” When Emily came to her senses, her first thought was to deny it. Back then, Olivia had only accidentally entered her son’s room once before she was expelled from the Carter family. Then, she reappeared five years later with a child, claiming it was Nathan’s.
“That woman is really crooked! It’s one thing to come back, but to bring a child to deceive you!” Emily instinctively didn’t believe it. She looked sharply at Liam, continuing to scrutinize him. The boy had delicate features, cherry lips, and white teeth. With his timid expression, he resembled Olivia to some extent. Looking at him infuriated her!
She spoke nastily. “Did Olivia Monroe instigate this by asking you,to come and call him ‘Daddy‘? Who on earth is your biological father?” Liam frowned when Emily spoke to him disdainfully, but he answered respectfully out of politeness. “Mommy didn’t instigate anything. My daddy is Nathan Carter.”
“Nonsense!” Emily berated sternly. “Your mother looks like a devious woman. Don’t think you can frame my son and put the blame on him.” Nathan’s gaze turned cold when he heard his mother’s harsh words. He warned her, “Mom, be mindful of your words!” Liam was slightly angry. He clenched his tiny fists and argued, “I didn’t make it up! My mommy is a good person. She loves me the most. I’ve also done a DNA test. I’m Daddy’s child!”
