Chapter 141 You Are Truly Remarkable
Nathan had not slept all night. After returning home and taking a shower, he intended to lie down and snatch a couple of hours of sleep.
No sooner had he closed his eyes than his cell phone suddenly rang.
He opened his eyes, his sharp brows furrowing as he sat up and reached for his phone.
It was Ethan.
Ethan’s anxious voice came through as soon as he answered the phone. “Mr. Carter, the Chairman plans to end our collaboration with Horizon Ventures. James of the sales department has already gone to sign the agreement.”
Upon hearing this, an icy–cold expression instantly enveloped Nathan’s handsome face.
He had thought Emily would face reality, but he never expected her to do something like this.
She’s basically acting as if I don’t exist!
Nathan immediately got out of bed, changed his clothes, hurried downstairs, and drove off toward Horizon Ventures.
His handsome face was taut with tension as he sped all the way to the office building.
All Nathan could do was hope that Olivia didn’t foolishly compromise with that request.
No sooner had Olivia arrived at Horizon Ventures than James followed suit.
It was clear how eager Carter Group was to terminate the collaboration.
Even though she was quite upset, she still courteously received James.
“Ms. Monroe, this is the contract to terminate our collaboration.” Without beating around the bush, James opened the file he had brought and slid it across the table to her.
Olivia gave it a brief, indifferent glance before lifting her gaze. As her cold eyes fell upon James‘ face, he felt an overwhelming sense of pressure emanating from her, causing a wave of unease to wash over him.
James couldn’t help but swallow hard.
Olivia squinted slightly as she asked, “Has your company really thought this through? If word gets out, it could tarnish the reputation of your company.”
James flashed her an apologetic smile and said, “I’m sorry, Ms. Monroe. I’m just following orders. I don’t have the authority to make this decision.”
Upon hearing those words, Olivia let out a scoff. “Just following orders?”
Way to go, Nathan!
Her beautiful face at that moment looked as gloomy as the frost of the harsh winter, freezing everything around her.
“Ms. Monroe, please review the contract. If you have no objections, you may go ahead and sign it,” James said, managing to squeeze out a smile as he spoke to her.
Olivia glanced at him before she picked up the document and began to peruse it thoroughly.
Since Carter Group was insistent on breaching the contract, the penalty fee had to be satisfactory to her.
“After you sign, the contract will take effect immediately. The penalty fee will be transferred to your account in a couple of days.”
The penalty for breaking the contract was not a small sum.
Olivia let out a cold chuckle. Nathan sure spared no expense to terminate our collaboration!

Since there was no room for turning back, she had nothing more to say.
As she picked up her pen and got ready to sign, the door was suddenly pushed open from the outside.
Olivia and James turned their heads simultaneously, only to see that it was Nathan.
Olivia’s brows furrowed slightly. Is he here to confirm whether I have signed or not?
Upon catching sight of Nathan, James‘ face instantly went pale.

Nathan slammed the door shut with a gloomy look on his handsome face. He strode over to them with long, quick steps.
“Mr. Carter!” James shakily stood up, his back already soaked with sweat.
He walked over to Olivia, catching sight of the documents on the table. Swiftly, he grabbed them and gave them a quick glance. They had yet to be signed.
Having snapped out of her dazed state, Olivia was just about to question him when he tore up the document in front of her.
At that moment, she was truly dumbfounded and had no idea what he was up to.
Nathan tossed the torn documents at James, his voice icy as he commanded, “Take this and get out of my sight.”
James was dumbfounded, unsure of what to do next.
Before coming here. Emily had made it clear that, he had to get Olivia to sign regardless of what happened.
Little did he know, Nathan showed up and tore up the documents.
James wiped his sweat nervously. He was almost on the verge of tears, but he still mustered the courage to say, “Mr. Carter, Mrs. Carter has stated that this collaboration must be terminated today.”
