Nathan watched Liam’s performance quietly, a hint of amusement flickering in his eyes.
Liam really knew how to exploit Olivia’s weaknesses.
Sure enough, Olivia was completely unable to resist Liam’s pleas and could only reluctantly agree.
She looked at Nathan, managing to squeeze out a faint smile. “Mr. Carter, if you don’t mind, you’re welcome to visit my home.”
“With pleasure.” Nathan looked at her, his expression a playful mix of amusement and seriousness.

Quickly, Olivia helped Liam into the car. Then, she rolled down the window and said to the man who was still standing in the same spot, “Follow behind me in your car.”
Throughout the journey, Olivia drove carefully, fearing he might lose her if she went too fast.
Soon, they arrived home. Tony was taken aback when he saw Nathan walk in.

Olivia couldn’t be bothered to explain. She simply instructed Tony to entertain Nathan, while she herself headed to the kitchen.
Regaining his composure, Tony quickly said to Nathan, “Mr. Carter, please, this way. Have a seat in the living room first. I’ll get you a glass of water right away.”
Nathan did not move.
Tony noticed him staring in the direction of the kitchen and immediately understood. He explained, “Whenever Ms. Olivia has some free time, she personally cooks for William.”
“Daddy, didn’t I tell you before? Mommy’s cooking skills are amazing,” Liam said in a childish tone, giving a thumbs up.
Nathan gave a faint smile and then looked toward the kitchen again. His thoughts couldn’t help but drift back to many years ago.
Back then, when he was in high school, she would always clumsily cook in the kitchen, preparing homemade lunches for him to take to school. She claimed it was cleaner and better for his digestion.
Her cooking was truly subpar at first. The dishes were either burnt or undercooked, and there were even eggshells in the scrambled eggs.
The smile on Nathan’s lips widened a bit more as he reflected on this.
Later on, when she started high school, her culinary skills improved significantly.
Then the incident happened. She was expelled from the Carter family, and he never tasted her cooking again.
Suddenly, he found himself feeling a bit nostalgic.

Roughly an hour had passed when the sound of Olivia’s voice echoed from the dining room. “Liam, dinner’s ready.”

room.
In the dining room, the warm, amber glow of the lights cascaded down, creating an atmosphere of coziness, The air was filled with the enticing aroma of food. One couldn’t help but feel hungry.
The dining table was laden with a variety of dishes. It was hard to believe that Olivia, who was so formidable and decisive at the office during the day, could display such culinary prowess.
“Daddy, come sit down and try the dish Mommy made.”
Liam pulled Nathan to sit down.
Olivia watched in silence and served them both a plate of pasta.
As she handed him the pasta, Nathan glanced up at her and said placidly, “Thank you.”
Olivia’s lips quirked up and then she sat down as well.
“Daddy, you’ve got to try this. It’s Mommy’s specialty.” Liam handed Nathan a piece of honey–glazed ribs.
“I know.”
His response caused Olivia to stop what she was doing.
In the past, she would prepare honey–glazed ribs for him at every meal simply because he loved it.
Back then, they were both so young and naive. Whenever they saw something the other person liked, they couldn’t help but wish to present it to them.
Looking back, Olivia suddenly felt that she might have been reading too much into things. She was unsure whether he actually liked the honey–glazed ribs she made.
