Undeterred by his demeanor, Emma approached him with a warm smile lighting up her face. In a sweet voice, she replied, “I came to accompany you to Attlewich.”
Today, Emma had purposefully adorned herself in a pink gown, meticulously applying makeup to enhance her natural elegance. A soft smile graced her lips, adding to her allure.
However, Nathan seemed indifferent to her appearance, dismissing her with a cold remark. “You go ahead first.”
He then headed toward the dining room.

Yet, she quickly regained her composure, briskly following him toward the dining room. “Nate, we have several matters to discuss today. It would be more convenient if we went together,” she stated, concealing any hint of personal agenda, pretending to be completely dedicated to work.

Picking up the glass of milk from the table, Nathan took a casual sip before speaking in a nonchalant tone, “Why don’t you go ahead and get everything ready? I’ll join you an hour later.”
It was evident he had no intention of accompanying her.
Emma hadn’t anticipated such a rejection after making the effort to show up at his doorstep. Instantly, a twinge of annoyance pricked her, but she swiftly concealed it behind a composed facade.
Moreover, she had long been prepared for this.
“Nate, I want to go ahead too, but… Mrs. Carter is on her way here. We’re supposed to travel to Attlewich together later.”
At the mention of his mother’s arrival, Nathan narrowed his eyes. It’ll be troublesome to pick up Liam if Mom will be around.
His expression darkened slightly as he coldly replied, “Understood.”
With a subtle nod to Ethan, who stood nearby, Nathan communicated his intentions.
Ethan promptly got the message and responded, “Mr. Carter, I’ll handle the matter.”
