Chapter 191 Succumbing To Temptation
After Nathan left, he headed toward his own room while sending a message to Ethan: Once the doctor has finished the examination, come and report the details to me.
Though he was annoyed, he ultimately couldn’t stop worrying about her.
Throughout the afternoon, Emma resisted the urge to see Nathan, keeping in mind his dislike for being disturbed at work. It wasn’t until the cocktail party was about to commence that she finally decided to check on his preparations.
She was about to press the doorbell when she caught sight of a familiar figure from the corner of her eye.
Turning her head, she saw that it was indeed Nathan.
“Nate,” she exclaimed in delight.
Upon hearing his name, Nathan looked up, but when he saw her, his eyebrows furrowed slightly.
As he approached, Emma noticed that his expression was off, and quickly asked with concern, “Nate, what’s wrong?”

“It’s nothing.”
The emotionless words left his lips. Immediately after, he pushed open the door and walked inside.
Emma was about to follow him in when….
Bang!
The door was slammed shut with such force that it nearly hit her nose.
Emma was taken aback, frozen in shock.
What happened to him? Why is he so upset all of a sudden?
Emma snapped back to reality, turning her head toward the direction where Nathan just walked from. It made her heart skip a beat.
If memory served her correctly, the room Olivia resided in was in that direction.
Before she came to Attlewich, Emma had made it a point to note the location of Olivia’s room.
She furrowed her brow. Could it be that the b*tch has already arrived? Has Nate already met her?
The thought of them possibly meeting in private caused her face to instantly sour.
After Nathan left, Olivia lay helplessly on the bed, staring at the ceiling, her eyes somewhat vacant.
She clearly didn’t want any further involvement with him, yet as she watched him leave without looking back, an inexplicable sense of unease welled up within her.
When Liam watched as Nathan stormed off in anger, his eyes welled up with tears. He felt that it was his fault for following his father out, a fact that upset his mother. He believed that was the reason they were arguing, something he didn’t want.
And so, he perched on the edge of the bed, his voice soft and childlike as he cooed, “Mommy, don’t be mad. Daddy just said he wanted to take me out to have some fun. It was I who couldn’t resist…”
He sniffled, his voice pitiful as he continued, “Don’t argue with Daddy. It’s all my fault.”
Upon hearing this, Olivia let out a helpless sigh and said, “I’m not mad at you.”
Liam pouted, muttering, “But you’re mad at Daddy.”
Unable to catch it, Olivia asked, “What did you say?”
“Nothing, Liam hastily shook his head. “As long as you aren’t angry, that’s all that matters.”

Olivia chuckled. “You’re already here, so what’s the point in me getting angry? It’s not like I can send you back, can I?”
She gently pinched his nose, put on a serious face, and said, “But there can’t be a repeat of what happened. Otherwise, I’ll really get mad!”
Upon hearing this, Liam quickly raised his hand, promising with a serious look on his face, “There won’t be a next time,”
“You’re such a good boy.” Olivia smiled as she ruffled his hair.
Liam relished the feeling with his eyes closed. Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind. He opened his eyes and looked toward Olivia’s abdomen, his eyebrows furrowing. “Mommy, does it hurt? If I blow on it, the pain will go away,” he offered.
As he spoke, he crawled over and gently blew air onto her injured spot.
Watching his serious demeanor, Olivia couldn’t help but be amused, yet she didn’t stop him.
At that moment, the doorbell rang.
Liam hurried to open the door, only to be greeted by Ethan and a female doctor.
Upon noticing that Nathan was no longer in the room, Ethan didn’t enter. Instead, he stood by the door and said, “Ms. Monroe, the doctor is here. If you’re feeling unwell, you can tell her directly.”
Olivia watched as the female doctor entered. She didn’t refuse the offer, simply uttering a soft “Thank you.”
