After having dinner, Olivia freshened up and then changed into a gown.
The wound still throbbed with a dull ache, while any movement of her hand would aggravate it. She slightly furrowed her brows, then lifted her head to look at her somewhat pale reflection in the mirror.
Hence, she applied some light makeup but purposely chose a darker shade of lipstick, which made her complexion appear much healthier.
Once everything was set, she was about to head out to the cocktail party when Benjamin arrived.
“How did it go?” Olivia cut to the chase as she opened the door.
“Lionel confessed everything, and there were no other backup lists. As for the person who leaked the list, he seemed genuinely unaware.” Benjamin reported the information he had gathered to her as it was.
Olivia frowned, “He was unaware?”
“Yes, the other party concealed their identity.”
“Heh.” Olivia let out a snigger. “There are only a few who could possibly know Shadow’s whereabouts. Given Master’s abilities, I’m sure he could find out quickly if he looked into it.”
Does that person really believe that by concealing their identity, Mystical Alcazar won’t be able to find them?
Benjamin nodded in agreement, then gave her a once over. Seeing her all dressed up, he couldn’t help but frown, asking, “Are you going to a cocktail party at this hour? Are you sure you’re okay?”
He was truly worried.
Olivia gave a slight smile. “The wound isn’t a big deal, but…”
She moved to the couch and sat down. “It’s no hurry. I’ll go later. After all, they might not be too thrilled to see me.”
“But then, why…” Benjamin couldn’t figure out why she even bothered attending.
However, the words never made it past his lips.
As he had worked for her for quite some time now, Olivia was able to read his mind with a glance. Her eyebrows lifted as she said, “The sole purpose of my attendance at this cocktail party is to discuss a partnership with Mr. Bovril of Sphaera Group.”
Her mention served as a reminder for Benjamin, who recalled the real purpose of their trip. It wasn’t just about unmasking the mole within Mystical Alcazar.
He quickly lowered his head. “Understood.”
“Once I’m done speaking with him, I’ll leave. It won’t take long.” Olivia’s gaze slightly narrowed. After that evening, she assumed there would be no further involvement between her and Nathan.
At that moment, the party was in full swing. The venue was filled with guests dressed to the nines and the atmosphere couldn’t be any livelier..
Nathan stood in the center of the banquet hall, holding a glass of wine. The radiant light from the crystal chandelier above. his head illuminated him, a sight so dazzling that one couldn’t help but notice.
Numerous guests came forward one after another to offer toasts, clearly trying to ingratiate themselves with him.
However, Nathan wore an indifferent expression, even appearing distracted.
While he was busy entertaining the guests who came to offer toasts, he subtly searched the crowd for a particular someone.
He waited and waited, but she never showed up.
He couldn’t help but frown, wondering if her injuries were too severe. Why else would she still not show up?

While flattering Emma repeatedly, they also inquired, “Mrs. Carter, is there a happy event on the horizon for both of your families?”
Faced with their curious gazes, Emma shyly lowered her eyes, a small smile playing on her lips. She softly reassured them, “It’s still a long way off. Nate is usually very busy, as work always comes first.”
After throwing Emma a glance, Emily feigned helplessness and said, “My son has always been like this, completely neglecting everything else when he loses himself in work.”
