Chapter 203 Enchanted by That Woman
After Blair snapped back to reality, he quickly turned toward Olivia and asked, “Is this true, Olivia? Do you and Mr. Carter have some private matters to attend to?”
He deliberately emphasized the words” private matters” in his tone.
If it weren’t for Liam, Olivia really didn’t want to have any involvement with Nathan.
She took a deep breath, nodded, and said, “We do, but Benjamin is here too. I’ll have him take you there. Once I get back, we can talk in detail. Is that okay with you?”
“Of course, I’m fine with that.” Blair glanced at Nathan and arched his eyebrows as he continued, “However, if you run into any problems on your end, feel free to let me know.”
Although he and Carter Group, had a partnership, Emily’s spiteful words were clearly aimed at Olivia. If he hadn’t shown up when he did, there was no telling how badly she might have been bullied.
Olivia chuckled softly. “All right; thank you for today.”
“No need to thank me.”
Since everything had been decided, Olivia used the excuse of not feeling well to retire to her room early.
Blair was merely there for a brief moment, not staying for long before leaving
No sooner had the man left than Emma couldn’t help but say, “Nathan, what private matters do you and Olivia have to attend to? Is there anything I can assist with?”
She quietly clenched her fists, suppressing the jealousy and discontent that churned within her, all while struggling to keep a smile on her face.
However, Nathan’s words shattered her smile into pieces.
“No; There’s no need to trouble yourself, Ms. Patel.”
His tone was cold, devoid of any hint of emotional fluctuation, and he seemed incredibly distant.
Emma felt as if her heart was being tightly gripped, causing her great discomfort. She let out a self–deprecating laugh and asked, “Nathan, must you be so cold toward me?”
Nathan pursed his lips tightly, offering no response.
Emily was furious when she saw that. However, due to the guests around, she lowered her voice as she questioned him, “What private matters could you possibly have with that woman? Nathan, you better not forget what your family name is!”
Even though her voice was lowered, her tone was still quite harsh.
With a slight squint, Nathan’s eyes gleamed, and a hint of a smirk formed on his thin lips. “Mom, my family name is Carter, but what of it?”
He didn’t believe that he couldn’t have the slightest involvement with Olivia simply because his last name was Carter.
The pitch of Emily’s voice went high as she exclaimed, “What of it? Have you forgotten how you lost your father?”
Nathan didn’t respond, but his gaze grew somewhat colder.
Emily took a deep breath to suppress the anger in her heart as she muttered through clenched teeth, “Nathan, I can’t believe you really had the nerve to embarrass me in front of everyone tonight! And now, you’re still entangled with that woman. Are you trying to abandon your mother?”

From the moment she was driven out of the Carter family years ago, she no longer had any ties with the Carter family whatsoever. As the chairman of Carter Group. where do you draw the line when it comes to embarrassing your guests?”
Faced with her son’s questioning. Emily turned her face away, her expression rather unsightly.
Nathan squinted, his eyes revealing a hint of sharpness as he added in a cold, harsh tone. “I don’t want to see something like this happen again.”
After he had spoken, he turned and walked away.
Emily hadn’t expected him to defend Olivia. Instantaneously, anger surged within her, and her vision blurred. nearly causing her to faint.
Luckily, Emma was there to hold her steady.
Emma bit her lip and expressed her dissatisfaction by saying, “Mrs. Carter, it seems that Nathan is truly captivated by that
woman.
Captivated? I’d like to see just how capable Olivia really is!” Emily scoffed.
