Chapter 204 Someone Else Will Handle It
Upon leaving the banquet hall, Nathan didn’t return to his own room. Instead, he went straight to the outside of Olivia’s
room
Without a second thought, he raised his hand and knocked on the door.
Swiftly, the door was opened.
Olivia had just returned home, so her mood had not quite recovered yet. Upon seeing Nathan outside her door, the look on her face immediately grew cold
“What are you doing here?” Her tone was far from pleasant.
Nathan didn’t seem to mind, though.
He knew her mood was off due to the incident that had occurred at the banquet earlier.
He gazed at her, words teetering on the tip of his tongue, but all he managed to say was, “I’m here for Liam. Are you going to let me in, or should I take Liam home with me?”
Olivia paused for a moment, then let out a cold chuckle. “What’s this? Don’t you need to entertain your guests, Mr. Carter?”
Nathan’s brows twitched slightly when he noticed the sarcasm in her words. With an unchanging expression, he replied, “No need; someone else will handle it.”
Ah, that’s right. He’s the CEO of Carter Group, so there is certainly no need for him to personally entertain his guests. Moreover, people would always fawn over him anyway, so him leaving early wouldn’t make any difference.
Olivia stared at him coldly, showing absolutely no intention of letting him in.
After what happened earlier that night, she was even more resolved not to get too involved with him.
Nathan arched an eyebrow at her in response. “Do y
you not welcome me, Ms. Monroe?”
Duh! There’s no way I’d welcome him! I wish nothing more than for him to stay as far away from me as possible!
With a fake smile, Olivia said, “You’re always so busy, Mr. Carter. How could you possibly have time to accompany Liam? You should gu back.
A hint of a smile played at the corners of Nathan’s mouth, almost imperceptible. His hands were casually tucked into his pockets, standing still with an air of calm and composure.
He showed no inclination whatsoever to leave.
Sensing his intentions, Olivia clenched her teeth in frustration. Since when did this man become so shameless?
She didn’t want to let him in, nor did she want him to take Liam away.
The two were at an impasse, the atmosphere growing increasingly tense.
Liam was engrossed in playing with LEGO in his room. Seeing that his mother had opened the door but hadn’t come in for quite some time, he couldn’t help but feel puzzled. So, he abandoned his LEGO set and ran over.
When he caught sight of the towering figure outside the door, joy instantly spread across his little face. In a clear and vibrant voure, he called out, “Daddy!”
Upon seeing i
Liam approaching, a sense of dread filled Olivia’s heart, but it was already too lat

Nathan crouched down and gently touched his face, his lips curving into a faint smile as he softly nodded in agreement.
Upon seeing the tenderness that filled his eyes, Olivia instinctively averted her gaze, feeling an inexplicable tightness in her
chest.
Liam tilted his linle head and asked in a sweet voice, “Dail, can you play LEGO with me?”
Noticing that Liam’s face was filled with anticipation, the smile on Nathan’s face deepened a little. “Sure thing
Liam’s face immediately lit up with joy. “That’s great!”
Then, he pouted and said. “The LEGO set this time is too difficult. I have no idea how to assemble it, and even Mr. Hayes couldn’t get it done…”
His eyes then crinkled with joy as he continued. “But now that I have my dad to work on it with me, I’m sure we can get it done!”
Nathan gently pinched his little nose and asked, “Are you so confident in me?”

Liam, with his chin lifted high, said with immense pride, “Of course! My dad is
Listening to Liam’s words, Nathan felt his heart brimming with emotion. So, this is what it feels like to be a father!
“Dad. let’s go in quickly!” Liam said and led him into the room.
As he passed by Olivia. Nathan glanced at her sideways. A trace of amusement flickered in his eyes when he noticed her troubled expression.
Olivia felt like she was completely ignored by Liam. As long as Nathan was around, it seemed like she, as a mother, would become practically nonexistent.
This is so frustrating!
