Chapter 206 Flattering Herself
His grip was strong, and the heat from his palm seeped through her thin pajamas, scorching her skin.
Olivia’s back stiffened, her mind filled with the words Nathan had just uttered.
His voice held an inexplicable, innate power over her. Even though they had been apart for five years, she had spent over a decade listening to him, and his voice had become deeply familiar to her.
As a result, Olivia truly dared not move.
As she was lost in her thoughts, Nathan lifted the hem of her pajamas, revealing a slightly reddened wound on her side.
His expression darkened. The wound is deeper than I imagined.
He looked up and glanced at her. A hint of heartache flickered in the depths of his eyes.
Feeling a sudden chill on her waist, Olivia snapped back to her senses and looked down. She instantly flushed with embarrassment and anger. He took advantage of my distraction to lift my pajamast
She instinctively reached to adjust her pajamas.
“Don’t move!” Nathan’s stern voice echoed in Olivia’s ears once more, causing her to clench her fists in frustration.
Nathan picked up the iodine that had spilled on the ground. Although some had leaked out, there was still some left in the boule.
He efficiently dabbed the cotton swab with iodine solution to disinfect her wound, then applied the medication.
Ouch! Olivia shrank back, wincing in pain.
Nathan glanced up at her. Noticing her face scrunched up in pain, he instinctively turned gentler.
Liam watched from the side and asked in his childish voice, “Mommy, does it hurt a lot? Let me blow on it for you.”
He leaned in and blew gently on the wound.
Seeing that, Olivia had no choice but to endure the pain, not wanting to
worry Liam.
The few minutes spent applying the medicine inexplicably felt incredibly lengthy for Olivia.
“It’s done.” Upon hearing Nathan’s words, Olivia quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
Upon seeing him reaching for the gauze, ready to tend to her wound, she quickly interjected, “TILdo it myself.” Having him apply the medicine is already torturous enough for me. If I were to let him dress my wounds, I fear I’d lose my mind.
She reached out to snatch the gauze, but Nathan dodged her and sternly said, “Sit still!”
Once again, an overwhelming sense of intimidation hit Olivia head–on.
She suddenly felt utterly useless, having succumbed to Nathan once again.
Nathan unfurled the gauze, winding it around her waist, loop after loop.
Whenever the gauze reached her back, he had to draw closer to her. As a result, she could catch his scent distinctly and feel the warm breath he exhaled on the side of her neck.
She unruly lowered her gaze as a wave of panic surged within her.

Once during a school sports day, she was forced to sign up for the hundred–meter dash. During the race, she accidentally tripped and scraped her knee.
When she returned home and Nathan saw her injury, his expression darkened.
Olivia anticipated a burst of anger from him, but it never came.
He simply retrieved the first aid kit and personally disinfected her wounds, applied medicine, and then bandaged them, just like what he was doing at the moment.
Back then, Olivia was still young. When she secretly stole glances at his earnest demeanor, the sight stirred the first whispers. of affection in her heart.
Because of that, she was overjoyed inwardly for a long time.
However, reality eventually slapped her in the face, telling her that she had been flattering herself. Nathan has never truly regarded me as significant. To him, I’m nothing more than a lowly servant, not to mention the daughter of the person who caused his father’s death
At that thought, Olivia immediately grimaced.
She looked up, her gaze landing on Nathan’s chiseled jawline. A flicker of coldness flashed across her eyes as she subtly clenched her hands.
If it weren’t for the fear of aggravating her wounds, she truly wanted to push him away directly.
