Arriving to find the doctor examining Emma, she rushed to her side, filled with concern, “Emma, tell me, what happened?” The doctor glanced uneasily at Emma before explaining, “She’s taken a fall and dislocated her wrist. It’s quite swollen and needs to be immobilized to prevent further movement.
Emily, puzzled, looked at Emma for answers, “How did you end up like this?”
Emma wiped her tears away and looked down, “It was just an accident, a clumsy fall.”
But before she could downplay the situation further, her assistant blurted out, “She was actually hurt during a confrontation with Olivia when she went to see Mr. Carter.”
“Olivia?” Emily’s disbelief was evident, her voice rising. “But you were looking for Nathan, how did Olivia get involved…”
