“Have you double–checked the test results? There won’t be a mistake, right?” Emily looked at the envelope and leaned forward involuntarily. Her gaze was sharp as she looked at Dr. Ricker. She seemed to express concern, but she had a hidden agenda.

Emily breathed a sigh of relief, secretly pleased with herself. Nathan was utterly focused on the envelope and was oblivious to the unusual interaction between his mother and the doctor.
Oliva remained composed on the surface, but she could see through Emily’s façade and understood what was happening. It appeared that the results confirmed Nathan and Liam were father and son.
