Chapter 210 Will Not Let It Rest
Olivia’s reaction was lightning–fast, her eyes narrowing as she deftly caught Emily’s hand mid–swing.
“What do you think you’re doing, Mrs. Carter?” Olivia demanded, her face a portrait of frosty composure, her tone laced with undisguised irritation.
Emily, thrown off by Olivia’s quick reflexes, turned a shade of deep red, her anger palpable. “Oh, feeling high and mighty now that you’re with Horizon Ventures, are you? Brave enough to mess with Emma just because of that?” she spat out, barely containing her fury.
Olivia’s eyes flicked over to Emma, standing timidly behind Emily, her hand dramatically bandaged.
The sight made Olivia’s lips twitch with a hint of sarcasm.
She had indeed sent Emma packing earlier, and yes, Ernma did take a fall. But to result in such a display was highly unlikely.
Emma avoided Olivia’s gaze, instead pulling at Emily’s arm, her voice barely above a whisper. “Mrs. Carter, please, let’s just let this go. I’m not really that hurt
There it was, the pitiful, subdued Emma.
Olivia nearly laughed out loud at the dramatic turn. Emma’s performance is award–worthy: too bad she isn’t aiming for a career on the silver screen
“She’s clearly reaping what she has sown, Olivia retorted, dismissing Emily’s hand with a flick. Her smile was icy as she continued, “Why should I entertain someone who can’t even keep track of her own fiancé and instead invade my privacy?”
She paused, her gaze sharp as she emphasized, “I was actually being merciful by just kicking her out.”
“You!” Emily, livid, raised her hand again, but Olivia, unfazed, warned, “Go ahead, make your move if you wish to join her in humiliation.
Despite her rage, Emily knew she couldn’t afford a repeat of Emma’s embarrassment. Pointing accusingly at Olivia, she challenged, “You really believe you’re justified in all this?”
Olivia scoffed dismissively, turning her gaze away, her patience wearing thin.
“Apologize to E
Emma right this instant!” Emily’s demand echoed the authoritative tone she believed she had over Olivia
It was just like five years ago.
Olivia’s response was steeped in disbelief. “Apologize? For what reason should I?”
“Because she’s the esteemed daughter of the Patel family, the Carter family’s future daughter–in–law! Emily insisted, as if the titles should carry weight with Olivia.
Olivia’s reply was a detached “Oh,” followed by, “If you don’t mind, I’d like to get some sleep now. Please, see yourselves out.” The thought of apologizing to Emma was ludicrous to her.
Emily, seething with fury, barely managed to hold back, her voice dripping with venom. “You think I won’t act?”
Olivia, with a calm defiance, tilted her chin up slightly, her gaze steady and unyielding. “Feel free to give it your best shot. Off to the side, Emma couldn’t contain her glee, a smug smirk playing across her lips as she watched the standoff intensify.

At that moment, the tension was abruptly pierced by a deep, querying voice. “What’s going on here?”
Emma’s smirk faded as Nathan’s figure came into view, his approach marked by the unmistakable scent of alcohol.
It dawned on her then–she had been wrong. Olivia had told the truth; Nathan hadn’t been with her.
This realization sent a wave of panic through Emma, prompting her to quickly avert her gaze and fall silent.
Finished
To everyone’s surprise, it was Emily who responded, seizing the opportunity to escalate the situation. “Nathan, you’ve arrived just in time. Olivia here has injured Emma, causing a dislocation of her wrist, yet she refuses to apologize”
Her accusatory glare then shifted back to Olivia, her voice thick with anger. “This issue needs to be addressed tonight, or rest assured. I won’t let it rest,”
