Chapter 212 Who Was Behind It
Overwhelmed with guilt, Emma found herself struggling to articulate her thoughts.
“What exactly are you here for?” Nathan pressed on
Her anxiety was palpable as she tried to muster an explanation. I just needed to speak with you about something. I–I thought… Her words trailed off, betraying her inner turmoil
Nathan, growing impatient with her hesitation, cut her of “You believed I was in her room!”
Emma fell silent, unable to respond.
Nathan’s laugh was devoid of warmth, his eyes remaining icy as he retorted. “Even if I had been in her room, what concern is it of yours?”
His gaze hardened, making it clear he was serious as he added, “Unless I’m mistaken, our engagement has been formally dissolved.”
Emma stared at him in shock, her mind reeling at his confirmation that he intended to end their engagement.

Yet, recalling Nathan’s stern words, her frustration boiled over. It dawned on her that as long as Olivia remained in the picture, Nathan’s judgment would always be clouded.
Emily’s gaze turned venomous as she looked toward Olivia’s room, vowing to herself to remove Olivia from Nathan’s life by any means necessary.
Back in her own room, Olivia found sleep elusive. The night’s events replayed in her mind, leaving her restless. The peace the longed for seemed further away with each passing moment.

After opening the door. Nathan inquired. What is it?”
Ethan with a hint of apology in his voice, admitted, “I’m sorry, but my search for details about Ms. Olivia’s injury you tasked me with this afternoon came up empty”
Nathan’s response was marked by surprise, a slight crease forming between his brows, clearly not anticipating such a shortfall
from Ethan
