Chapter 240 Nothing To Do With You

Olivia glanced at him and picked up the document. After she flipped it open, she was surprised to find a list of clauses laid out in detail.
She skimmed through the text. It generally advised her that during the child–rearing period, she needed to be mindful of her personal life and behavior, considering the mental and physical health of the child.
After reading, Olivia couldn’t make head or tail of it. She lifted her gaze to the man across from her, asking in confusion, “Is there something wrong with my personal life and behavior?”
Nathan let out a cold laugh. “You sure are popular, Ms. Monroe. You’re always out with a different man. I think it’s necessary to bring up the custody issue we discussed before, back into our daily conversation!”
At his mention, Olivia recalled the words he had spoken at the restaurant that night, and she couldn’t help but laugh. “Mr. Carter, I suggest you pay a visit to the doctor. Any issues with your mind should be addressed sooner rather than later!”
After she finished speaking, she forcefully slammed the documents onto the coffee table, a clear demonstration of her stance.
But to Nathan, her anger seemed like a cover for her guilt. “Whether I’m sick or not, it’s none of your business. My concern is Liam’s well–being.
Whenever Nathan thought about all the outstanding men surrounding her, it felt as if a heavy stone was pressing down on his heart, causing him great discomfort.
He didn’t want Liam to see another man as his father.
“Really?” Olivia sneered, her arms crossed over her chest, her tone dripping with sarcasm. “Mr. Carter, let me remind you that I was the one who went through the hardship of carrying Liam in my womb for ten months. You had no part in it.”
At this point, she arched her delicate brows. “It’s not that you’re completely unrelated. At the very least, you are his biological father, but that’s about it.”
“That’s enough!” Nathan squinted his eyes. “I’m the child’s father. It’s my responsibility to ensure his well–being!”
Gritting her teeth, Olivia clenched her fists tightly. Her face was taut with tension. “Listen here, Nathan,” she said, her voice resolute. “Liam is my child. I gave birth to him. How I choose to raise him is my own business. You have no right to interfere or criticize me!”
The two individuals locked eyes, neither willing to back down. The atmosphere was charged with tension.
After a while, Olivia stood up, signaling it was time for him to leave. “Mr. Carter, if there’s nothing else, please leave.”
Nathan remained utterly unfazed, saying in a calm and composed manner, “Ms. Monroe, I’m giving you two options. Either you sign this contract, or you hand over the custody of Liam to me.”
“Are you joking?” Olivia looked at him with amusement. “I think you’ve truly lost your mind! I gave birth to the child. No one can take him away from me!”
“Then sign this!” Nathan pushed the document back in front of her once again.
Olivia turned her face away, her stance resolute. “Lwon’t sign it!” she declared. These are ridiculous clauses! Only a fool would sign
it!
Nathan stared at her silently for a while before he finally stood up. An almost imperceptible emotion flickered in his eyes as he slightly parted his thin lips. “With your attitude, I can’t trust you with Liam. After all, I can’t be sure if you’ll whisk him away home at any given moment!”
“Nathan, are you out of your mind?” Olivia’s voice rose sharply in her exasperation, her laughter cold and biting. “What exactly do you take me for? And maybe you should take a good look at yourself before you start questioning ine…”

She thought whether she was seeking a father for Liam had absolutely nothing to do with him.

Nathan’s brow twitched slightly when he heard those words. He calmly stated. “I’ve already broken off the engagement Moreover. I can restrain myself from interacting with any woman. You. Ms. Monroe, on the other hand, don’t have control over yourself!”
