Chapter 243 Not Rest In Peace
Dad’s death anniversary! A shudder ran through Nathan as he remembered this particular day.
It was the fifteenth of August, and there was less than half a month left until then.
That day, which was supposed to be a day of reunion, turned out to be a day of misfortune for the Carter family.
Over a decade ago, Daniel and Olivia’s parents tragically lost their lives in an air disaster. Their bodies hadn’t been recovered ever since.
After the incident, it seemed as if Nathan and Emily were living in a world consumed by hatred.
They believed that it was Olivia’s parents who caused Daniel’s death, especially Emily. Her resentment toward Olivia was so intense it felt as if she could skin Olivia alive.
After the death of Olivia’s parents, Olivia became a housekeeper in Carter Manor, atoning for her parents‘ sins.
She had then evidently become the target of vengeance for Nathan and Emily,
A lot had happened since Olivia returned to the country, so much so that Nathan had genuinely forgotten that Daniel’s death anniversary was approaching.
Every time Emily mentioned it, he felt as though a large boulder was pressing against his chest.
Upon seeing his face turn sour, Emily couldn’t help but mock him aloud. “It seems you haven’t forgotten who caused your father’s death and ruined our family!”
Whenever these topics were brought up, Emily couldn’t help but become emotional.
She would never forget that day, the lifteenth of August. She and Nathan were at home, eagerly awaiting the return of her husband for a family reunion. But what they received instead was the devastating news of a plane crash.
Emily blamed it on Olivia’s parents. If it weren’t for them, Daniel wouldn’t have died! Till today, I still can’t find his body!
Every word spoken by Emily pierced into Nathan’s heart. He clenched his hands that were resting by his side, his handsome face tightened, shrouded in a layer of gloom.
“Nathan, if you still hold any regard for your father in your heart, you should heed my words. Instead of constantly defying me, distance yourself from that sinful woman!” Emily said with resentment. Ever since that woman returned, Nathan has completely changed. There is not a trace of resentment toward that woman to be found in him anymore. I won’t allow such a thing to happen! That woman will forever be the Carter family’s enemy!
A complex emotion flickered in the depths of Nathan’s eyes.
After that, he heard Emily say, “Remember, you and she are eternal enemies. There will never be a good outcome from the entanglement between you two!”
She simply wanted him to face reality, to stop making the same mistakes.
“Mom, so you came here to tell me all this?” Nathan asked. His gaze on her was cold.
He didn’t need her to continually remind him that there was no future with Olivia. Moreover, he had his own sense of judgement, perfectly aware of what was right and what was wrong.
“What? Am I not allowed to do that?” Emily didn’t expect him to maintain such an attitude. She suddenly laughed in her anger and said, “Maybe my words aren’t pleasant to hear, but they’re all for the sake of the Carter family, for your own good!”
“If you don’t want your father to rest in peace, you can keep going like this. I won’t stop you anymore.” At this point, Emily couldn’t help but reveal a sorrowful expression “However, for your father’s death anniversary this year. I’d rather you not

Chapter 243 Not Rest In Peace
In Nathan’s mind, to not attend Daniel’s death anniversary was unthinkable. After all, Daniel was his father.
Emily didn’t want to speak so harshly, but she just didn’t want him to persist in his folly.
Olivia thought of that woman as a curse, forever incompatible with the Carter family.

“Nate, you are the son your father and I are most proud of. I believe your father wouldn’t want to see you like this either, so take some time to think it over.”
With that, Emily departed.
