Lucas didn’t hold anything back as he spoke candidly. “Actherion Group primarily focuses on emerging industries, such as At products, online gaming, e–commerce platforms, and the like.”
“And?”
Companies like this were not uncommon within the country, and for the time being. Olivia didn’t discern anything particularly unique about it.
“And then, a couple of years back, Aetherion Group launched an online game that went viral worldwide. However, the game was often plagued with bugs, causing them a lot of headaches. So, they decided to replace the company they were originally collaborating with for system maintenance.”
Olivia quickly understood. “Are you trying to recommend me?”
“Of course. This is a pretty good opportunity alier all”
“Indeed, it would be quite good if we could collaborate,” Olivia concurred..
Even though it should Aetherion Group should be the one approaching Horizon Ventures for a partnership due to the) difference in scale, the latter was still just a branch office domestically and had yet to find its footing.
Thus, she didn’t mind lowering herself to attend the dinner and personally discussing the collaboration with the other party.
With that, she said, “Alright, I’ll go with you tonight.”
“I’ll pick you up after work.”
“Okay.”
After ending the call, Olivia didn’t waste any time. She asked Benjamin to gather information on Aetherion Group, so they could be well–prepared for the business discussion later that evening.
As nightfall approached, Lucas car arrived at Horizon Ventures punctually.
After boarding the car, Olivia fistened her seatbelt and turned to look at Lucas,
Seeing him yawn, she noticed that he wasn’t looking good, as if he was completely drained
She couldn’t help but furrow her brows. “Were you fooling around last night?”
Lucas turned toward her, his expression teetering on the brink of tears. “Ms. Monroe, do I really look like the type who fools. around?”
Olivia scrutinized him with great interest before nodding. “You do.”
After saying that, she couldn’t help but laugh.
Seeing her laugh, Lucas couldn’t help but join in, a chuckle escaping his lips. He lifted his hand to wipe the corner of his eyes, grumbling. “You really don’t have a conscience, do you?”
Olivia blinked, asking seriously, “Since when have I lost my conscience?”
“I was on a business trip abroad over the last few days and only returned today. I was supposed to be recovering from jet lag. but when King called, I had no choice but to come.”
As he spoke, Lucas couldn’t help but yawn again.
He was genuinely exhausted but also annoyed.
Had it not been for his unwavering willpower, he would have fallen asleep long ago.

Even though she was admitting her mistake, she was still laughing, showing no sincerity at all.
Lucas held his forehead, sighed, and said, “Forget it. I won’t hold it against you.”
“Thank you, Mr. Martinez”
The two exchanged a glance and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

They had known each other for several years. Whenever Olivia spoke to him, she never minced her words, treating him just like a long–time friend.
After that, Lucas started the car.
Gazing at the road ahead, Olivia suddenly thought of something and asked, “Who’s attending the dinner tonight?”
“I don’t know”
“You don’t know?” Olivia turned her head, looking at him in surprise.
“I’m not the host, why would I know?”
Olivia smirked in response. “That’s true.”
“However…” Lucas gave her a sideway glance, saying, “We might run into Nathan, so you’d better prepare yourself mentally.”
The name “Nathan” ignited a flicker in Olivia’s eyes.
