“Socialize?” Nathan raised an eyebrow. “Does that require being handsy?”
His pitch rose slightly, betraying his displeasure.
Lucas was momentarily stunned but quickly understood what he meant by “handy.” He couldn’t help but laugh. “Are you referring to this action?”
He deliberately raised his hand again, pretending to pat Olivia’s head. Unsurprisingly, he saw Nathan’s face darken even more, which only deepened his smile.

Surprised that Lucas brought up that matter, Olivia tugged at his clothes, whispering, “Enough talk of it.”
She had no intention of letting Nathan find out about this; otherwise, he might think she was tattling.
For her, it was merely a chapter in her life. It might not have been pleasant, but it was all in the past now.
Though she spoke in a whisper, Nathan still heard her. His previously stern expression eased a little, and the look he gave her deepened.
The dinner party that night was orchestrated by Caleb of Aetherion Group. The attendees were all scions and heiresses of wealthy families from Emberfall. Many among this crowd considered themselves superior to others.
After Emma revealed Olivia’s fast, it wasn’t difficult to imagine how those people would perceive the latter.
Moreover, Lucas was right. The incident truly did originate from Nathan.
