Upon hearing this, Sophocles instantly perked up. “You seem pretty confident that I’ll be interested in the calligraphy piece you’re about to present,” he said.
Nathan remained silent and handed over a calligraphy piece, which was none other than the one Liam had written the night. before.
Sophocles glanced at him, then took the paper and studied it intently for a good while.
“The writing looks quite childish.”
Sophocles‘ words hit the nail on the head, but Nathan was unbothered. “Is that all?”
Sophocles paused for a moment before continuing. “The writing does have a certain style to it. The characters are bold and vigorous, so powerful that they seem to penetrate the paper, leaving a lasting impression.”
He then lifted his gaze to meet Nathan’s, a chuckle escaping his lips “I must say, this calligraphy piece bears a striking resemblance to your work from your younger days,” he remarked with amusement.
“Is that so?” Nathan raised an eyebrow with interest.
It was already quite impressive for Liam to receive that comment from Sophocles
But then, Sophocles scrutinized the calligraphy piece again and shook his head, correcting himself, “No, it’s slightly better than your work back then.”
Though it wasn’t exactly impressive, it was decent enough to catch his attention.
Nathan chuckled. “I think so, too.”
Last night, as he observed Liam’s writing, he couldn’t help but feel that the boy surpassed his past self.
With Sophocles echoing this sentiment, it affirmed that Liam’s writing was truly exceptional.
“Mr. Quill, would you be interested if I told you this was written by a child of just over four years old?” He looked at the elderly man with a half–smile.
“Over four years old?” Sophocles was taken aback, then soon burst into laughter. “Are you kidding?”
The handwriting was in no way indicative of a four–year–old’s penmanship.
Sophocles thought Nathan was just messing with him.
