Chapter 279 Worth Entrusting A Lifetime.
“Then why don’t you two go play chess while I whip up a few dishes in the kitchen?”
The household hadn’t been so lively in a long while, and not once did Holly’s smile fade from her face.
“I’ll go and help. Olivia rose and followed suit.
“Let’s go in too,” suggested Sophocles, as he led the way into the house.
Nathan glanced toward the direction of the kitchen before he carried Liam into the house.
“Mrs. Quill, let me assist you.”
As soon as Olivia stepped into the kitchen, she saw Holly about to wash the vegetables and quickly approached her
When Holly heard the way Olivia addressed her, she was a bit surprised. After a thoughtful pause, she didn’t mind it and Jasked. “Why aren’t you watching them play chess?”
“I don’t understand chess,” Olivia said, flashing her a smile before she lowered her head to wash the vegetables.
In reality, it wasn’t that she didn’t understand: rather, she was afraid of feeling uncomfortable.
That’s true. Both of them are always so quiet when they play chess, sometimes not uttering a single word.” Holly had no doubts about her response.
Olivia maintained a serene smile throughout, listening intently and occasionally responding.
With her assistance, the ingredients were swiftly prepared, leaving only the cooking to be done.
Olivia wiped her hands carefully and said with caution, “Mrs. Quill, let me do it”
“Can you?” Holly looked at her with a hint of hesitation.
“I know a little.” Olivia raised her hand, gesturing a small amount.
After some thought, Holly handed her the spatula. “You can do it, then.”
Initially, she believed that Olivia was completely inexperienced, with only a slight interest in cooking.
When she saw how adept she was in her movements, Holly was not only surprised, but her admiration for her grew eyes
more.
“Olivia, not only are you beautiful, but your cooking skills are quite impressive too.”
Upon hearing her praise, Olivia felt a bit embarrassed. “I’m still not quite up to your level.”
Holly chuckled. “You really don’t need to be so modest. However… I can’t say my cooking skills are anything remarkable.”
Olivia gave her a glance, then continued to stir–fry the vegetables.
Holly continued with a soft smile, “Despite our comfortable living conditions and having a maid cook for us, I still enjoy taking the reins in the kitchen and preparing dishes that Sophocles particularly enjoys.”
At this point, Holly couldn’t help but reveal an expression of happiness. “I’ve been with Sophocles for decades now. Logically, he should be tired of the food I make, but he’s not. Every time I cook, he’ll light up like a child.”
Olivia turned off the fire, turning to gaze at her blissful expression. An indescribable emotion welled up in her heart.
“Do you know, Olivia?” Holly suddenly asked.
“Huh?” Olivia had a bailled look on her face.

Olivia wasn’t sure if she should be happy, but her emotions were certainly a bit complex.

“Mrs. Quill, actually, me and Nate…” She felt it was necessary to clarify things. Otherwise, both elders might misunderstand.
Before she could finish her sentence, Holly interrupted, “I feel like Nate looks at you differently.”
Watching her display such certainty, Olivia couldn’t help but feel a mix of amusement and exasperation. She didn’t have the heart to tell her she was mistaken, so she could only respond with an awkward smile.
After all, Holly was quite experienced in life. She could tell there was something odd between the young lady and Nathan,
However, this was their personal matter, and as an elder, it wasn’t really appropriate for her to pry too much.
She could only respond with a smile, “Don’t doubt me. I’m quite good at reading people. Besides, Nate is a wonderful individual. He’s truly worth entrusting one’s life to.
