Chapter 300 No Room For Sentimentality
When Frederick noticed her continuous stare without untering a word, he couldn’t help but feel a bit uneasy. He let out an awkward chuckle. “Olivia, Monroe Group truly needs you”
Olivia stared at him for quite a while before suddenly laughing. “I understand what you’re implying, Uncle Frederick
Upon hearing this, a look of joy spread across Frederick’s face as he eagerly asked. “So, you’re agreeing then?”
“Uncle Frederick, I genuinely want to prioritize Monroe Group, but as you know, I’ve just returned to the country recently.. and the company is still not stable, so.
Olivia looked genuinely distressed. “I’m really unable to help however much I would like to
“What do you mean you’re unable to help?” Frederick’s expression changed, and now he couldn’t even muster a pretense of a
smile,
“I meant what I said,” Olivia replied unhurriedly, her gaze cooling slightly as she looked at him.
It’ho on earth gave him the audacity to seek my help?
Moreover, the moment she rejected him, he instantly turned hostile. Frederick was truly the epitome of hypocrisy!
Frederick was growing somewhat irritated. “Don’t think I’m clueless about what Horizon Ventures is capable of. Besides, isn’t this place just an echo chamber for your opinions? At the very least, isn’t your husband isn’t he the CEO of Horizon Ventures Corporation?”
Olivia was taken aback.
What? Her husband is the CEO of Horizon Ventures? Where did this rumor come from? This is just too untrageous!
However, she couldn’t be bothered to explain. All she said was, “Please, Uncle Frederick, understand my difficulties?
“Understanding?” Frederick scoffed, “Have you ever cared about how I feel? You are my own niece, yet when 1, your elder, came to you for help, you were unwilling to lend a hand.”
What he meant by this was that he thought it was perfectly justified for her to help him.
Olivia let out a soft laugh, which quickly faded as she composed herself, her expression turning serious. She said, “Even though Carter Group targeted us in the past, if I remember correctly, after Nathan took over the company, he stopped deliberately targeting Monroe Group”
She remembered it quite clearly. When everyone thought Monroe Group was doomed, it was Nathan who stepped up and took on the heavy responsibility of Carter Group
From that moment on, gradually, Carter Group ceased to target Monroe Group.
“And… so what?” Frederick scoffed coldly, justifying himself confidently, “Monroe Group was doing just fine. It was because of your parents that we became targets for Carter Group. The damage was so severe that we haven’t been able to recover for years.”
“Really?” Olivia raised an eyebrow, “Truth be told, if you had managed things properly back then, Monroe Group wouldn’t have fallen to such a state.“.
At this point. Olivia leaned forward, her gaze devoid of warmth as she eyed Frederick. She spoke deliberately, each word and sentence crystal clear. “Uncle Frederick, don’t blame everything on my parents. Did they choose to die? After they left, did any of you feel sorrow?”
Faced with her interrogation, Frederick felt guilty and turned his head away, not daring to meet her gaze.
When the topic of her parents came up, a trace of sorrow inevitably crept onto Olivia’s face. “I doubt my parents ever imagined their own kin could be so heartless, so materialistic,” she said.

didn’t feel any sorrow. You were solely focused on fighting over the family property, even going so far as to drive me out.”
She glanced down at her fingernails before continuing, “Given all that you’ve done, what right do you have now to blame my parents, let alone me?”
As soon as she finished speaking, she stood up and walked over to press the intercom, calling Benjamin into the room.
“Escort Mr. Monroe downstairs.”
Olivia had outright ordered Frederick to leave, leaving no room for sentimentality.
