Chapter 312 Not Worth His Protection
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum of her feelings then, all she could feel now was pain.
Suppressing the turmoil of emotions within her, Olivia asked with an indifferent tone, “Do you need something. Mr. Carter?”
Nathan gazed deeply at her, his lips parting slightly. “I came to pick you up. Have you finished your discussion? Can we leave
now!”
Though his tone was mild, there was an unmistakable difference that could be heard between the lines.
His feelings for Olivia were different.
A slight frown creased Olivia’s brow. He’s here to pick me up? Doesn’t he realize that saying things like that could lead to misunderstandings? Doesn’t he mind?
Upon hearing this, Frederick, Hannah, and Samantha all widened their eyes in surprise. They secretly speculated in their hearts, He came to pick up Olivia? Has Olivia returned to the Carter family?
Samantha clenched her teeth in resentment. How did she manage to return to the Carter family again?
“Mr. Carter, we haven’t finished discussing our-”
Norah began to speak, but before she could finish, Olivia coldly interrupted her. “The discussion is over. I was just about to leave.”
“Is the discussion over?” Norah was anxious. It had taken great effort to get Olivia to return, and they hadn’t even finished discussing the matter. How could she let the latter leave just like that?
Next, with a face full of smiles, she turned to Nathan and said, “Mr. Carter, my granddaughter and I haven’t finished our conversation yet. Besides, this is a matter concerning our Monroe family, so you see….
Even though she harbored a deep apprehension toward Nathan, she had no choice but to risk it all for the sake of her family’s interests.
“Since she said it’s over, then it’s indeed over
Nathan didn’t bother showing Norah any respect at all; he simply took Olivia’s hand and led her away.
The elderly lady’s face turned beet red with anger, but she was helpless against Nathan. All she could do was watch as they left
The warmth of his palm seared into the skin of her wrist, leaving Olivia startled and momentarily unresponsive. She could only allow him to lead her on.
Aside from their initial surprise, the others were quickly consumed by worry.
If Olivia really had returned to the Carter family, the consequences would likely be unthinkable if Nathan found out the way they treated her today.
Even though Olivia had gone to the Carter family to work as a housekeeper as a form of atonement years ago, Nathan was very protective of her, not allowing anyone to bully her.
Seeing them about to leave, Samantha became anxious.
She didn’t want Nathan to leave just like that, especially since Olivia had indeed returned to his side.
What gives her that right?
Samantha was nearly driven mad with jealousy.
There was no way that she would let Olivia win this!

Finished.
Suddenly, the sweet voice of Samantha sounded from behind them. “Mr. Carter, since you’re here, why not stay for a cup of coffee before leaving?”
Upon hearing this voice, Olivia feli a bit uneasy. She lifted her gaze to look at Nathan.
The man appeared unruffled, as if he hadn’t heard a thing.
“Mr. Carter, my sister has been away for so long. We still have so many things to catch up on.”
A sense of unease involuntarily arose in Olivia’s heart at those words.
As she feared, in the next second, Samantha exclaimed, “Oh dear, Olivia, I completely forgot to ask you earlier! Why didn’t you bring your child here with you?“.
Bring Law here?
Olivia’s lips twitched at the thought. She didn’t want to expose her child to the unpleasant members of the Monroe family as she believed it wouldn’t be beneficial for his emotional and physical health.
“Oh, right, and there’s your company’s CEO, who is technically considered a son–in–law of our Monroe family. You should have at least brought him here to meet Grandna, shouldn’t you?”
After Samantha finished speaking, her fare was full of smug satisfaction,
She was determined to make Nathan realize just how undeserving Olivia was of his protection.
