The red abrasion marred the fair skin, causing pain to anyone who could see it.

Olivia felt herself getting light–headed. The chilliness she felt was gone, replaced with a burning sensation.
It seemed that she was coming down with a fever.
After her difficult delivery of Liam years ago, her health had deteriorated significantly.
She never managed to nurse her health back to how it was, even after all these years.
Catching a cold was inevitable after being in the rain tonight.
As her head began to feel foggy, Nathan finally finished treating her wounds.
Liam had come downstairs after changing his clothes.
Olivia quickly withdrew her hand. “We should head back now.”
Nathan set the medicine box aside and rose to his feet, saying, “Let’s go.”
He grabbed his car keys, thinking of sending the two.
However, Olivia’s phone rang at that moment.
It was a call from Benjamin.
She promptly accepted the call and heard him say, “Ms. Olivia, I’m here to pick you up.”
Olivia’s location was available for Benjamin to see. Seeing that she had not returned at this hour, he naturally came to find her.
Olivia replied, “Alright, I’ll be right out.”
After ending the call, she turned to Nathan. “Benjamin is here to pick us up. Thank you for your offer, Mr.
Carter.”
Without waiting for Nathan’s response, she stood up and said to Liam, “Let’s go.”
Liam was reluctant.
But recalling his mother’s peculiar behavior earlier, he was concerned that something might happen again, He obediently nodded. “Daddy, goodbye.”
Staying in his spot, Nathan nodded faintly and watched the two depart with a heavy gaze.
The sound of the car driving away quickly faded.
Silence and emptiness returned to the villa.

As they exited Beverly Hills, Olivia felt the discomfort worsening within her.
Her head had grown dizzier, and her breaths almost seemed hotter.
Fatigue took over her body as she sunk into the car’s back seat.
Behind the wheel, Benjamin contemplated asking her why she was there. Seeing her weary state and disheveled appearance, he changed his mind. He turned on the heater and drove her home.
Upon arriving, Mr. Valtor was taken aback by her condition. He quickly told her to take a hot bath and prepared a bowl of chicken soup for her.
After finishing the soup, Olivia wrapped herself in a blanket and drifted off to sleep.
The next day, she woke up with a high fever.
The scorching temperature made her feel like she was in an uncomfortably hot sauna.
She walked out of bed, feeling groggy.
Enduring the discomfort, she went down the stairs to have breakfast.
Mr. Valtor noticed her state and asked, “Ms. Olivia, you don’t look well. Are you feeling sick?”
“It’s nothing, just a slight headache,” Olivia replied, forcing herself to sip the hot drink. She turned to the boy beside her. “Sweetheart, is your injury still painful?”
“It’s not painful anymore, Mommy. Mr. Valtor put some medicine on,” the child answered and continued, “Mommy, is yours painful?”
“Mine is alright, too.” Olivia smiled.
In truth, it was still extremely sore, but she told a white lie so that her child would not worry about her.
“That’s good,” the young boy nodded. He reminded her as though he was an adult, “Mommy, you must put your ointment obediently, too, or else you’ll have scars, and it won’t look good.”
“Okay, I will!”
Olivia chuckled and gently tapped his little nose. “For the next few days, you need to stay at home and rest. You don’t need to go to school for a while. When Mommy and Benjamin go to work, you must listen to Mr. Valtor and not wander around, alright?”
The little boy nodded. “I understand, Mommy. I will behave, so you don’t need to worry and focus on work!”
“Good boy.”
Olivia went upstairs for an Advil and left the house with Benjamin.
