When Nathan heard this, his eyebrows furrowed slightly as a hint of impatience flashed across his eyes.
“Give me the invitation!” He reached out a hand.
“Huh?”
Ethan was bewildered.
Nathan coldly said, “I will attend the banquet tonight.”
“Oh, alright!”
Ethan finally understood and quickly handed over the invitation, looking hesitant. “What about Ms. Patel?”
“Come up with an excuse and send her away.”
Nathan went silent, continuing to work on the documents on his desk.
Ethan nodded and left the office.
Meanwhile, Emma had been waiting for a long time in the assistant’s office on the sofa.
Seeing Ethan returning, she neared him and asked, “How is it? Mr. Thompson, did Nate agree to see me?”
Anticipation shone in her eyes.
Ethan calmly responded in a professional tone, “I’m sorry, Ms. Patel, the president is still in a meeting and -cannot meet you now. However, I have conveyed your message. The president said he would invite you,
Mr. Patel, and Mrs. Patel to dinner another day. As for tonight… he has to attend a banquet held by Sphaera Group, so the dinner will have to be postponed.”
His words were precise and to the point.
The anticipation on Emma’s face disappeared without a trace.
She was not clueless and knew that the meetings and banquets were just excuses for Nathan to reject her.
If he really cared, he would not have kept shutting her out time and time again!!!

Emma was displeased, but she dared not show it on her face. She kept a graceful smile, “I see. Well, then, I won’t disturb Nate anymore. Please remind him to have proper meals and take care of his health, Mr. Thompson. I’ll take my leave now!”

Emma nodded and left the company.
She went straight home. Her expression was bitter.

She slammed the table in a fury. “He… he’s just full of himself!”
Roland’s expression also darkened as he listened.
They had always pampered and spoiled their princess with anything she wanted since childhood. She was the precious gem of the family. Was there ever a time when she had been treated in such a way?
