One captivating glance from her was enough to disarm any man. She held everyone’s attention effortlessly. Her alluring presence was impossible to ignore.
Surrounded by a mob of affluent young men, she conversed with case, receiving constant compliments on her appearance and talents, which she accepted with graceful composure.
Her responses were well–composed and dignified, highlighting her stunning beauty. She was a beacon of brilliance, drawing everyone in like moths to a flame.
Nathan had never witnessed this side of Olivia before. A flicker of displeasure crossed his face, a hint of possessiveness as he watched this enchanting woman steal the spotlight.
The room buzzed with excitement as soon as Nathan walked in.
“Hey, isn’t that Mr. Carter? Quite an unexpected sight.”
“Exactly! I thought he avoids social gatherings like this. Wonder what brought him here. Could it be because of Ms. Patel?”
“Wouldn’t be surprising, considering they’re engaged now! Meeting him in person is a treat, though. He’s quite the charmer!”
“Oh, to be engaged to someone like him would be a dream come true…”
Lucas and Olivia caught wind of the murmurs amidst the lively chatter of the crowd. Turning around, they were shocked to find Nathan at the center of attention.
Lucas blurted out, “Well, I’ll be damned! What’s he doing here?!”
Olivia, however, remained composed. “Let’s play it cool. Ignore him,” she suggested, casually shifting her gaze away from Nathan as if he weren’t there.
Taking cues from Olivia, Lucas also looked away.
Observing their indifference, Nathan narrowed his eyes. Is she deliberately snubbing me?
A flicker of suspicion danced in his gaze.
Just then, Eric’s voice cut in, Hey, Mr. Carter! Why didn’t you let us know you were coming? I would have greeted you at the door!”
Although older and more experienced than Nathan, Eric spoke warmly and respectfully.
Nathan glanced back at him. “Thanks, Mr. Bovril. Good to see you.”
His words sounded polite, but his face didn’t match his tone. There wasn’t much enthusiasm behind his greeting.

Nathan felt annoyed by their apparent sales pitch. He digressed, “So, I couldn’t help but overhear some interesting talk earlier. What’s new? Any juicy business news floating around that I haven’t heard?”
Eric hesitated slightly before responding. “No major headlines, but Horizon Ventures is opening a branch up north, and the young woman they put in charge is causing quite a stir with the people here.”
Nathan perked up, pretending he wasn’t that interested. “Oh, really? Well, since it’s Horizon Ventures, I guess I have to meet her. Do you mind introducing us, Mr. Bovril?”
“Absolutely, Mr. Carter, come with me,” Eric said, gesturing to lead the way.
With steady strides, the two made their way towards Lucas and Olivia…
Emma’s expression soured at the sight! Nathan had barely arrived, yet he was already rushing off to find Olivia, utterly unaware of her presence! What would the bystanders think?
Struggling to maintain her composure, she quickly put on a brave front and remarked to the socialites beside her, “Nate’s here. I’ll go say hi and catch up with you later.”
With a forced smile, she quickened her pace to catch up with him.
