Liam nodded in agreement, indicating he had gained much from their muscum visit.

“Is this Abraham Lincoln’s Hat?” Liam eagerly approached the display case, excitement evident in his voice.
“I’ve seen similar ones at a foreign cultural relics exhibition before. According to the books, Abraham Lincoln’s Hat had a black silk mourning band,” Liam shared his knowledge with Nathan.
Liam leaned in close to Nathan’s ear, his voice barely above a whisper. “You know, Daddy, I always felt the foreign cultural relics at those exhibitions were kinda like… smuggled goods. Not as good as what we’re seeing today.”
Nathan was pleasantly surprised. “You’re quite knowledgeable!”
The little boy grinned proudly. “No one taught me, but I remembered what I read!”
Nathan couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. His son was intelligent and had an excellent memory, traits that he himself possessed.
He was thoroughly satisfied.
Before they knew it, it was already past four in the afternoon, and it was time to send Liam back to kindergarten.
“Daddy, I had a wonderful time with you today,” Liam said, planting a kiss on Nathan’s cheek. “Can I still go out with you in the future?”
“Of course,” Nathan replied without hesitation.
Liam’s face lit up with joy, and he whispered, “Daddy, don’t worry, I won’t let Mommy know. This will be our little secret…”
Despite his young age, Liam possessed a keen understanding of the tensions between Nathan and Olivia.
While he hoped for reconciliation between his parents, he also wanted to spare his mother any unhappiness.
Nathan looked at the little guy, soft and innocent like a marshmallow, and his heart melted. “I promise I’ll take you out to play often in the future.”
“Okay, okay, that’s great!” Liam agreed gleefully.
Thirty minutes later, Nathan dropped Liam off at kindergarten. As the little boy got out of the car, he seemed reluctant to leave.
Nathan watched him disappear into the building before heading back to the office.
Upon his return, Ethan noticed a significant change in the CEO’s mood!
The icy demeanor that had chilled the office earlier had thawed into a warm spring breeze.
However, the reprieve was short–lived.

At the mention of work, Ethan felt a pang of anxiety. If Nathan hadn’t shown signs of improvement, he wouldn’t have dared to report on the task’s progress today.
“The security system for the High–Tech Industrial Park still doesn’t have a suitable provider. The few companies we’ve approached so far haven’t met our requirements after testing,” Ethan explained.
A pang of anxiousness crept over him as Ethan spoke, and he braced himself for a potential scolding.
Instead of scolding him, Nathan furrowed his brows in thought. After a moment, he looked back at Ethan. “If the companies we’ve contacted aren’t up to par, then we need to find someone who is. Does Horizon Ventures have the capability to handle this?”
Ethan found himself struggling to comprehend the CEO’s intentions. “Yes, but… are you suggesting… entrusting Horizon Ventures with the task?”
Just a few nights ago, weren’t they still at odds with each other?
Nathan cut in, “And if I am?”
“It’s nothing. Your decision is undoubtedly wise,” Ethan replied calmly. “Horizon Ventures is renowned for its comprehensive security systems. Rumor has it that there’s no system they can’t penetrate or bug they can’t fix.”
Ethan hesitated once more. “But… if Horizon Ventures agrees to take on the task, there shouldn’t be any issues. However, considering your current relationship with Ms. Monroe, will they… decline?”
He treaded cautiously with his words.
Nathan sneered, “If Carter Group’s tasks are rejected, do you think any other company would be eager to assign them? While Horizon Ventures may hold international sway, Carter Group reigns as the true leader here in the country.”
