Keith was a little surprised. What she wanted to eat was something she had never wanted previously.
However, he had never known that she was only avoiding those foods because of him.
The spicy food served was boiling in front of them. Keith was choking and tearing up from the spiciness.
“Mr. Farmer, don’t force yourself if you can’t stand take the heat.”
Sandra, on the other hand, enjoyed her delicious meal. She did not look like someone who was afraid of spicy food.
Keith did not want to show his weakness, especially in front of his competitor.
He picked up a big mouthful of chilli and took a bite, but coughed because of the spiciness. He started tearing up and sweating profusely.
Zachary handed him a tissue and said, “Don’t eat it if you can’t take it. You can just leave.”
Keith seemed to understand that Zachary was implying. His fighting spirit aroused at that moment. He took several more spoonfuls of food and gulped everything down.
Sandra focused on enjoying her food. It had been a long time since she had eaten such an authentic spicy meal. She was not bothered about the rivalry between the two men. She had never imagined herself being under such a situation.
After they were done eating, Zachary stood up and was about to settle the bill, but Keith stopped him.
“This meal is on me.”
Zachary raised his eyebrows and gladly accepted Keith’s kindness. “In that case, thank you, Mr. Farmer..”
Zachary heard a scream from behind when he returned to his seat. Keith slipped near the bar counter.
Sandra and Zachary stepped forward to help him up.
Zachary asked, “What’s wrong with him?”
Sandra knew that he had gastroenteritis, and the spicy food must have triggered him.
“He has gastroenteritis. Can anyone send him to the hospital?”
Zachary kicked Keith slightly and sneered, “Still trying to pretend to be strong when you can’t take it? How foolish.”
Zachary struggled to carry him to the car while Keith almost fainted from the pain. He held onto his stomach and his body trembled constantly.
In addition to the physical pain he suffered, his heart hurt even more. Keith thought he knew Sandra véry well, but the truth was that he had never really understood her.
Sandra knew his stomach condition very well. However, she did not stop him from eating spicy food out of anger and jealousy. She acted as if he was just a stranger sharing the same table with her. She was cold and distant.
Her cold facial expression lingered in his mind. It made him feel so depressed that he almost suffocated.
In the past, he thought she was naggy. Sandra would constantly remind him to take his medication. She would be the first to remind him what food he should not eat when he was out eating with friends.
The intense pain made his mind in a mess. He murmured from the backseat, “Sandra, I was wrong. Can you please
