Chapter 19
Mike stood up to take a photo of Sandra, and Irene cried with joy. All the major media companies took the opportunity to report it.
Suddenly, a reporter took out his phone and handed it to another reporter. All of the other reporters took out their phones and started to check as well. It became chaotic all of a sudden.
Some people whispered to each other and looked strangely at Sandra.
The news reached the jury panel. The leader of the jury was a supporter of Sandra’s opponent, so he would definitely not miss the opportunity to do something.
He asked someone to project the live broadcast onto the big screen.
Ivy’s face appeared on the big screen suddenly. She was sitting in a wheelchair, crying.
“It was my sister who copied my research. She stole my fiancé and my parents. She also caused me to fall from a high building at my wedding. I’m now wheelchair–bound for the rest of my life, and I can never stand up again.”
The audience broke into discussion. Everyone started to debate if Sandra should keep the award.
The whispers grew.
“From how it seems, this award shouldn’t be given to her.”
“What’s the difference between copying and plagiarism? To put it bluntly, it’is stealing someone’s work.”
“The real person that worked on the research came forward to claim her work. Something isn’t right here.”
“Am I the only one who noticed that she stole her sister’s fiancé? Her character is questionable. The award should be given to an honorable person. How can it be given to such an immoral person?”
Sandra froze on the stage, not knowing how to defend herself.
Mike stood up in the audience. “Don’t be fooled by this woman on the screen! She pretended to be my daughter, saying that we took the wrong child from the hospital. She came to my home with ill intentions!”
The big screen in the room was constantly refreshing the live broadcast.
