After landing in West City, Sandra visited the Lawrence family with Zachary after resting for two days. Sandra wore a short dress that Zachary bought for her. She was too nervous to speak on the car ride there. Zachary saw how anxious she was and held her hand. “A girl will have to meet her parents–in–law one day. You’re so beautiful, so what are you afraid of? Don’t worry, my mom will definitely like you very much.”
Sandra knew how powerful the Lawrence family was in West City. The Hudson and Farmer family wedding already attracted much attention, but what about the Lawrence family?
It was impossible for her to not be nervous.
Her life was just like a typical soap opera.
A girl from a small family who wanted to marry into a wealthy family, However, the boy’s mother threw almost a million dollars on the girl’s face to force them to break up.
Sandra became more and more conflicted.
When the car drove into a manor, she clearly saw the sign in the garden that read, ‘Lawrence Residence‘. She clutched onto the corner of her dress skirt nervously, but Zachary wanted to laugh when he saw her.
After entering the garden, she thought they would soon reach the gate. However, the car drove past one house after another.
Zachary pointed out each house to her.
“Those two houses belong to my uncles, and this is my aunt’s house. There are many branches of the Lawrence family. This huge hill gathers almost all the relatives of the Lawrence family. Some of them hardly live here, but they’ll come back for the holidays. There are also dedicated housekeepers to take care of the houses.”
Zachary took Sandra’s hand and kissed the back of her hand. “Once we get married, we’ll have a villa of our own too.”
The more Zachary talked, the more nervous Sandra felt. Would the marriage of a son from such a big and wealthy family not need to be an arranged marriage? How could they allow their children to choose their own spouse?
Finally, the car stopped at the door of a very luxurious and grand building that looked like an ancient castle. Sandra thought that she could not even escape the massive Lawrence family even if she wanted to.
The housekeeper opened the car door for her. He held the car door open, greeting Sandra as she got out of the car.
“Hello, Mr. Lawrence and Ms. Hudson. Mrs. Lawrence has been waiting for you for a long time.”
Zachary put Sandra’s hand in his arm as he took her into his family home.
The hall was magnificent, beautifully designed, luxurious but low–key. The decorative paintings on the wall were extremely valuable.
