Lucian’s eyes blazed completely red as murderous rage replaced his horror.
“She tortured you,” he snarled. “Used our betrayal to kill you slowly…”
Bobby looked up at him and barked once, as if confirming the truth.
“When I’m Luna,” Lily’s final message read, “I’ll make sure everyone forgets you ever existed. The weak little omega who thought she could play at being Alpha’s mate…”
“I’ll kill her,” Lucian vowed, his voice dropping to a deadly whisper. to you…”
He gathered Bobby into his arms, holding my loyal companion close.

“Beta!” he roared through the pack bond. “Where is Lily?”
I followed as he raced back to pack territory, Bobby cradled protectively against his chest.
Beta Jack met him at the pack hall entrance, backing away from the murderous aura surrounding his Alpha.
“We followed your orders, Alpha,” Jack reported quickly. “Lily has been driven from our lands. She returned to the Shadow Pack territory.”
A cruel smile spread across Lucian’s bloody face. “The Shadow Pack? Perfect.”
Of course it was perfect. The Shadow Pack – where their Alpha, Lily’s father, had stabbed me with the cursed dagger while I protected Lucian.
“Gather the warriors,” Lucian commanded, his eyes glowing with deadly purpose. “It’s time we ended this. The Shadow Pack dies at dawn.”

“The only thing I need,” Lucian cut him off, “is warriors who will follow their Alpha’s commands without question.”
Lucian crossed over Jack and headed towards the training grounds.“Alpha, this is madness!” Jack stepped in front of Lucian, blocking his path.
Lucian’s eyes flashed red. “Move aside, Beta.”
“The warriors aren’t ready,” Jack insisted. “We haven’t gathered enough weapons, haven’t planned our strategy-”
“Strategy?” Lucian laughed coldly. “Here’s my strategy: kill them all.”
Through our bond, I felt the dangerous edge to his thoughts. His mind was fracturing more with each passing moment.
“Think about the casualties,” Jack pleaded. “How many of our wolves will die in this reckless attack?”

The battle that followed was savage beyond measure. Lucian led the charge himself, his Alpha power clearing a path of destruction through the Shadow Pack’s defenses.
Warriors fell on both sides. Blood soaked the ground as wolves tore into each other with fang and claw.

Lily screamed, “Lucian, you’re such a worthless thing you coward, how could you not think of her being upset when you were thrusting inside me. You are the one to blame!”
Lucien grabbed her chin, “Shut up! I will certainly atone for her, but you also have to atone for her. Let’s go to hell together, you bitch.”
Lily laughed desperately, “Lucian, you bastard, you deserve to lose everything…” Her voice suddenly stopped, and Lucian dislocated her jaw, making her unable to continue speaking, and she could only emit simple moans through her vocal cords.
