Scarlett’s POV:
The day I banished Lucian, our warriors made sure he understood there would be no mercy.
“Escort him to the borders,” I ordered Nathan. “Make sure everyone knows – any wolf who helps him will share his fate.”
I watched from the pack hall as they drove him out. The former Alpha, now stripped of power, couldn’t even shift to wolf form anymore.
“Move!” Nathan shoved him forward when he tried to look back. “You heard Alpha Scarlett. You’re no longer welcome here.”
The warriors formed a line behind him, advancing with cold efficiency. Some of them were the same wolves who had once knelt to him as Alpha
When Lucian reached the border markers, he tried one last time to plead his case.
“Please,” he called out to the warriors. “This is my home. My father’s territory-”
“Your father was a traitor,” Nathan cut him off. “And you’re worse. Now go, before we make you.”
They drew their silver blades a clear threat. Even without his Alpha power, Lucian’s wolf blood made him vulnerable to silver.
I felt nothing as I watched him stumble across the border, clothes torn, face streaked with tears. The man who had once ruled this pack reduced to a homeless wanderer.
Five years passed like a dream after that day.
Under my leadership, the Storm Pack grew stronger each day. I restructured our warrior training, established new trade routes, and forged alliances with neighboring packs.

Then one morning, a prison guard burst into my office
“Alpha King,” he bowed deeply. “There’s a prisoner requesting to see you. It’s… it’s Lily.”
I set down my papers slowly. “Lily? She’s still alive?”
The guard nodded nervously. “In the deepest cells, where Alpha Lucian left her. Most prisoners don’t survive five years down there, but…”

“Very well,” I said, rising from my desk. “I’ll see her.”
Nathan fell into step beside me as we descended into the dungeons. The damp darkness held memories of Lucian’s torture sessions, but they meant nothing to me now.
When we reached Lily’s cell, I almost didn’t recognize her. Gone was the beautiful temptress who had stolen my mate. In her place sat a broken creature, thin and scarred.
Her eyes widened when she saw me. “No… it can’t be. You’re dead!”
She scrambled to press against the far wall. “I want to see the Alpha! Where is Lucian?”
Nathan’s boot caught her in the ribs, sending her sprawling. “Show some respect, prisoner. You’re addressing Alpha King Scarlett.”
“Impossible!” Lily shrieked. “Lucian would never allow-”
“Lucian allows nothing,” I cut her off coldly. “He has no power here. No authority.”
“He’ll come for me,” she insisted, a mad light in her eyes. “He loves me. He’ll save me like he always has!
As if summoned by her words, another guard appeared at the cell door.
“Alpha King,” he said urgently. “News from the border patrols. They… they found Lucian’s body.”
Something twisted in my chest – not pain, just surprise. “Dead?”
The guard nodded. “Apparently he’s been begging at pack borders for years. They say he finally ended it himself.”
Through my bond with Zoe, I felt a moment of quiet satisfaction. A fitting end for a man who had thrown away everything that mattered.
“No!” Lily screamed, throwing herself at the bars. “You’re lying! Lucian would never-”
Her words cut off as reality finally seemed to sink in. Her shoulders slumped as the last of her delusions. crumbled.
“Please,” she whispered, turning to me with desperate eyes. “Let me go, I’ve suffered enough. Show

“Mercy?” I laughed softly. “Like the mercy you showed me when you tortured me with messages about my dying mate?”
She fell to her knees. “I was wrong. I was jealous and cruel. Please-”
“How many of our warriors died in the Shadow Pack’s attacks?” I asked instead. “How many families were destroyed because you wanted my position?”
“I didn’t mean-“”
“You nearly killed me,” I continued calmly. “Tormented me while I was dying. And now you want mercy?
Tears streamed down her face as she realized there would be no forgiveness.
“Guards,” I called without taking my eyes off her. “Execute her.”
“No! Please!” She scrambled after me as I turned to leave. “I’ll do anything! Scarlett, please!”
I didn’t look back as her screams echoed through the dungeon. They meant nothing to me now.
Emerging into the sunlight, I took a deep breath of fresh air. The warmth on my face felt like a blessing from the Moon Goddess herself.
‘It’s over,‘ Zoe said softly in my mind. The last pieces of your old life.”
She was right. Lucian and Lily were gone. The weak omega who had loved them so desperately was gone
too.
In their place stood the Alpha King of the North, powerful and untouchable.
Looking out over my territory, I smiled. The future stretched bright before me, unmarred by the shadows of the past.
I had died a victim, but I had returned a queen. And now, finally, my reign could truly begin.
