Sara’s hands trembled as she gripped the dashboard camera.
The footage played before her–Leo’s lies unraveling one by one.

“Sara, stop!” I panicked, my bound hands instinctively reaching for her despite the distance between us.

“Listen to me,” I spoke quickly, my voice urgent but calm. “If you don’t want this baby, then go to a doctor. Do it properly”
Sara’s gaze snapped to mine, her chest rising and falling in sharp, shallow breaths.
“If you force it here, you’ll only end up suffering–and Leo will love that. He wants you to be broken, Sara. He wants you to be in pain. Don’t give him that.“%
Sara’s fingers twitched and her expression wavered.
I pressed on. “You’re beautiful, Sara. You’re smart. You have resources. Do you really think you can’t have a future without him?”
Silence as if she started to think my words deeply. But then, Sara’s lips curled into a sneer
“Lucy” she scoffed. “I never imagined I’d actually listen to you. But if you think Пl help you, Keep dreaming”
She let out a low, cruel laugh as she finished
I should have expected that answer. But I still felt a dull ache of disappointment.
I let out a slow sigh and leaned back against the seat, feigning defeat.
“That’s fine,” I murmured. “Maybe this is my fate–being locked up by Leo. At least you are free now. You can do whatever you want.“”
Sara snorted, rolling her eyes as she threw open the door. She stepped out of the car without another glance at me
I had no idea what was going on inside her head, but then I noticed it
Her phone. It sat abandoned on the seat beside me.!

The driver up front did not react at all. He must have been paid off or threatened.
So I just snatched Sara’s phone before anyone could notice

“Who is this?! Are you the bastard who kidnapped Jocelyn? Talk!”
I choked on a sob. “Ryan”
There was silence. Then, his voice changed
“Jocelyn? Jocelyn, is that you?” His breathing was sharp, panicked. “Are you okay? Where are you?“%

“I’m at the airport,” I whispered, forcing my words out “Leo, he’s trying to take me out of the country.”
“Stay there!” Ryan’s voice was sharp, urgent. “I’m calling the police. I’ll be there in minutes. Just don’t hang up.”

I pressed the phone closer to my ear, letting his voice ground me. Then, I felt a presence
I slowly lifted my gaze. Outside the car window, Sara was watching me. A sly, knowing smirk on her lips.
My breath caught. She knew and saw me using her phone. And yet, she did nothing
Instead, she mouthed two words. “Bye bitch
And then she walked away.!!
I smirked, tightening my grip on the phone. Even if she was still awful, at least, she just helped me escape
But then Leo swung the car door open, his dark eyes blazing with manic excitement.

I stiffened but quickly hid Sara’s phone beneath my sleeve
Leo did not even glance at the empty seat where Sara had been moments ago. After all, he did not care about her and only cared about me.X

My heart hammered against my ribs, but outwardly, I remained calm. Because from the comer of my eye, I saw Ryan’s guards .
Their sharp suits blended seamlessly with the crowd, but I recognized them instantly.
They were everywhere–positioned at every possible ext, subtly surrounding Leo like predators closing in on their prey.
I let out a slow, steady breath. I was saved and all I had to do was wait!

When we reached the departure gate, an airport officer stepped forward, blocking our path.
“Sir, please open the mask and hat. I need to confirm,” the officer asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.
Leo’s grip on my arm tightened.
“She’s sick,” he snapped. “We need to leave now. Are you going to be responsible if my wife dies here, huh?“%
His voice rose, filled with frustration and paranoia.
But just as Leo was about to shove past the officer a handcuff clicked around his wrist
“What?” Leo whipped around in shock, his free hand grabbing at the cold metal. “What the hell is this?“}
A police officer stepped forward, his expression calm yet unyielding “Sir, you are under arrest for kidnapping.”
Leo froze. Then laughed dryly, shaking his head. “Kidnapping? Are you insane? She’s my wife!
The officer turned to me, his eyes scanning my tear–streaked face.
“Ma’am,” he asked firmly, “is this man your husband?”
I slowly shook my head, tears brimming in my eyes. Then, I sobbed loud and uncontrollable.
A performance so convincing, I almost believed it myself.
Leo’s expression shattered.
“Lucy” he whispered, his face twisting in betrayal
But it was too late. The officers tightened their grip on him, dragging him back!
“Lucy, no! Tell them the truth! Tell them I love you and you love me too.”
His pleas were drowned out by the commotion around us.&
